iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane

I bet the Lumin will have the same issues working in his local network. But hey, at least that's a way more expensive adventure

the Oppo was streaming flawlessly last night on my network. it just did not sound quite as good. further if you had read my post it was determined by the retailer TREO whom i can not recommend that the unit was defective. vindicated.

So here we go followed all the steps and took my time. Result only tidal works now flawlesly for now. Upnp and spotify nope.

They got back to me and wrote to make sure i have it in aio mode and updated. They send me screenshots that their bubble and mconnect work for them. And that they had no tickets issued regarding the powers supply before.

The only other thing I can suggest is to try streaming one of the Radio station streams from inside the ifi app, keep in mind not all of them work at any given time and some take up to a minute or so too load. Could you try streaming one of them?

So Mr. vindication, what exactly was "defective" about your unit? Let me guess they didn't bother to say!

@Knobstler One last thing, could you please see if you might have another PS you could try for a test? As long as it's in the 9v - 15v range it will be ok to try. Have you tried streaming from the Hard drive port on the back Using a SSD or Thumbdrive?

Ok good , the start time is not unusual, at least for me, even on my cambridge unit sometimes they take forever, lol

I wonder if ifi will release the update of volumio, which can support pcm 348 or higher and dsd256 or higher？
But I think zs is used as a matching zen dac, so it shouldn’t。
But ZS’s competitor is raspberry，
But raspberry can update volumio to the latest to support pcm 786 dsd 512。
I don't think this is a hardware problem. This is a copyright issue of volumio. If ifi can buy the updated copyright fee from volumio, I will be very happy.
But I don’t think ifi will do this. One is the cost, and the second is that if it is updated, zen dac will become embarrassing.
So I think ifi will launch a more advanced streamer to match their neo idsd or pro idsd。
At first I also had great expectations for zs, until I thought about it. .
I think ifi should try to write its own program, not to buy another program, only in this way to ensure that the product will not be outdated
