I notice you didn’t comment on the charging issue (which is also well documented in various reviews of the xCan)?

No we didn't as each case we handle separately via our support platform, as in each we need more details. If there's a need to address something which applies to every product of a given line, we're vocal here on HF, but the charging matter you wrote about isn't.

i read somewhere that this xcan dac's is only can be used with bluetooth connection. does it means that we cant use the dac in wired connection (ex : when we connect using wire with phone, the dac used is from phone's dac) ?
or, we can use both dac and amp with wired connection?

Yes, it can only be used as a bluetooth DAC or pure AMP.

xDSD would be a better choice. Balanced from the DAC to your ears.

If it supports wired DAC, it will be a direct competition for xDSD. No manufacturers do that

True. xDSD is a DAC in the first place with a quality amp, whereas xCAN is an amp in the first place with a quality DAC.

I feel like the way the products were segmented was kind of unfortunate. The xDSD seems underpowered compared to an amp -- I know that's not the point of the device, but...I certainly don't want to buy both and stack them. I would have much rather seen something that's more of a follow-up to the Micro BL, with balanced output.

I would have much rather seen something that's more of a follow-up to the Micro BL, with balanced output.

Most people would as we've been receiving lots of asks about such a product. Who knows, who knows...
