Those cans would in 100% need XLR outputs

I just got my iCAN Signature yesterday and I am surprised that there is no mute button on the amplifier or the remote. Did I miss something? Why would IFi put out a flagship amplifier without a mute function? I hope I’m wrong.

These are just my personal preferences, but in seeking a DAC to pair with the iCAN, I’m prioritizing those with full-balanced outputs, Roon compatibility, at least 5V output, full MQA decoding, a decent selection of filters and 786/512, 32 bit decoding abilities. I have a set of Sony WH-1000xm4s I occasionally use wirelessly so for Bluetooth, the only hard stop I applied was LDAC decoding. My maximum price was $900–and was very pleased to settle on one that cost considerably less.

From xlr we know it have the power to drive it, but 4.4 is only 100mw at 32 ohms

I have a Pro iCAN, pre Signature Edition.
It is an AMAZING pairing with the HE6se V2's! I use mid-gain and keep the volume around 12:00, in tube mode. I also jack up the bass boost and the 3D effects. All XLR out of course.
The combination is really above and beyond. It is so good that every time I read about someone being disappointed with these headphones, I jump right in with the "You need a better amp" comment.
These amps are stupid expensive, but wow!

I have a Susvara which has comparable specs (60 ohm, 83 dB). I'm extremely happy with the iCAN Signature. I also don't think the amp is expensive compared to the alternatives out there and compared with the SQ and options (XBASS, Tube, etc) I'm getting

As always, price is relative. My older amp was a fair bit cheaper than the Signature. But I would not have paid full price for it ($3K in Canada with taxes). I ended up buying it used and getting it for half of that.

It is a very impressive unit.

iCAN Signature has an iPower Elite included which is retailed for $300. Put that aside the Signature is not that more expensive than iCAN Pro
