So at this point, I have two guesses...

1. The Zen as I remember was a first unfold only for MQA, whereas the NEO is a full decoder, so maybe that's the difference.

Hmm this might not matter anymore with MQA going bankrupt and tidal switching to FLAC!

Also, if that is a pic from your phone, lets make sure the same thing is showing on the Browser option at ifi.local on your computer before thinking it's disappeared.

The playback issues we will get to after we confirm the drive is holding.

I believe I have found the solllution! The problem was due to the 4G WiFi router. Fortunately, I tried a more powerful Linksys router. Thete is still a small problem. Which is: every +/- 5 minutes, the Volumio interface refreshes which results in a playback stop. At least, the main problem is solved.

The music database looks more stable now!
I am very happy I found a way because I really like the neo stream!

A good idea if you're having issues with a wifi connection, is to try a wired one. I avoid using wifi for streaming anything wherever possible.

One thing I have found disappointing is the infrequent updates to the software/firmware. For example, my last neo stream update has been October 2022. There have been a number of updates of HQ Player NAA since then. When can we expect the next update?

I have a playback trouble via my MacBookAir M1.The airplay doesn’t work correctly.I should connect manually when I play my iTunes music.And my neo stream suddeenly disconnect the airplay and you listen the music from the speaker of my MacBookAir,then I connect manually again.Then I bought the sonos,it works great,but its sound doesn’t beat my neo.Does anyone have the sollution?

Perhaps someone else can chime in that uses that setup in totality, in the meantime let us know how your NEO is connected to your network, Wireless/Wired Optibox...

So in what is happening the result of the "disconnect" is a return to the default speakers of the Macbook. Is there anything else nearby that could cause this, in other words, something else trying to connect within the household, phone, another tablet perhaps?

If it is indeed the NEO just disconnecting from the Airplay is there any noticeable change in the NEO, as in on the display or from within the NEO Stream app?

And also if possible try something else like perhaps a USB drive in the back of the NEO controlled by the Stream-iFi app to see if disconnection occurs there, or possibly another music service. Just trying to narrow it down for you, as I do not use Apple music I would again make sure to register this issue with our service/support, perhaps they have already come across this, as I do not remember it being brought up here.

to my ears better than zen one signature and a littlle behind Neo DSD but i think musicality is better than Neo DSD

Zen one signature in my opinion is on a different level just in the depth of soundstage is a little contracted. Neo dac is ok but it don’t have the lower frequencies as detailed and not as much as pronounced.
