It seems that the optical input of Neo Idsd has the maximum resolution limited at 24/96. By connecting the streamer Wiim mini the 24/192 resolution is not supported.
Does it turn out to be so?

I am not aware of this limitation, perhaps it's the Bluetooth being capable of 96 that is causing confusion.

As far as I knew Spdif (coaxial/optical) should support 24/192 without issue, but I could be wrong,

Hey guys I noticed the bluetooth just turns on when using other inputs. When the optical is active my phone will connect to bluetooth. Not only somewhat annoying to miss notifs. but the neo isn't doing what it says on the box. In USB input mode the neo bluetooth seems inactive as it should be.

If you mean the DAC circuit inside our NEO iDSD, then ZEN One Signature is either on par or still above it.

Considering the launch of Neo Stream, I would love to see a Neo iDSD II or Neo iDSD Signature, which supports I2S HDMI input, the latest XU316, an iPower 2 in the box or even 2x DSD1793 within. That would definitely be a killer product that will replace my D70s. I feel like in terms of a pure DAC, it has been superseded by the Zen DAC Signature V2 and the Zen ONE Signature.

I will briefly but I have to sell the zen one to afford the Neo. My audio dealer is a friend who put a lot of effort into helping get the Neo and I won’t return it after all that. This is my fault for not finding this thread when doing my research and now I’ve spent twice as much for at best a sidegrade or even an inferior DAC I’m afraid. I’m sure I’ll be happy enough with the sound but I let myself get fooled by the marketing and made a poor choice. I was looking for a step between zen one and Pro DSD (have Pro iCAN so don’t need another tube/x-bass/3d device) and mistakenly thought Neo was it. My bed, I’ll lie in it.

I have owned the NEO for about 2 years before moving on to the PRO IDSD. Its a great unit that gave me a lot of enjoyment. Seriously if you already have that mindset that the NEO will be inferior, there is simply no way you will get to enjoy it.

I was looking at the Neo as the piece to fill the gap between the zen one and the Pro iDSD and the Neo isn’t as far above as I was hoping. I’d absolutely love the DAC from the Pro iDSD as a separate pure DAC as my Pro iCAN has all the bells and whistles already. I just thought the Neo was that DAC.

It sounds great and is a good match with my amp, just means a longer journey to an endpoint

I’m left with a house brick for an audio system even though it does not stipulate this other than firmware update done at your own risk

Does not stipulate that by doing Neo Performance firmware will brick Neo Idsd OG
Even though in downloads software their is no drop down for ifi Neo idsd OG

Contacted ifi support and it’s out of 1 year warranty so replacement board plus service charge X amount per hour etc etc

Think before updating firmware or just don’t do it as I don’t want others with a nice aluminium doorstop.
