I just took one :) here you go. Just a smartphone pic and a bit out of focus, but you get the idea.

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since we kicked off the nano iDSD BL tour and the tour has officially come to an end, so we thought this would be a good time to give everyone a quick update!

First and foremost, a big thank you to everyone who showed interest in the tour and, of course, to the tour participants. It was awesome getting to read everyone's thoughts and feedback on the unit! We're certainly looking to continue using tours as a way of engaging with the community here and providing people with the opportunity to spend some quality time with the products we put forth. There's a lot of exciting stuff in the works so be sure to stay up to date with all the iFi happenings!

For those of you who are familiar with iFi tours, with the conclusion of a tour naturally comes the giveaway at the end of the tour! One lucky winner from each region of the tour will get to keep the nano BL tour unit for themselves, and one additional winner will receive a 1More Quad-Driver IEM courtesy of 1More!

We briefly mentioned at the beginning of the tour how winners are selected, but we think it's a good idea to reiterate it all again here. In order to keep things as unbiased and as fair as possible, the winners are selected at random. With that being said though, we do expect the quality of the review to be of a certain standard to keep it fair for everyone. We get it. You put in great effort to share your thoughts on a product, and then some random person who writes a quick, rough paragraph takes it home. Feels kinda bad...

With that being said, if you have any concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to us at any time!

Without further ado... the winners of the tour are:

Tour nano iDSD Black Label Unit:
@TimeSnow
@emptymt
@ahmadfaizadnan

1More Quad-Driver:
@Ksweene5

WINNERS: Please reach out to the iFi representative that was in charge of your leg of the tour to claim your prize!
Congrats everyone!!!!

I still need to get my review out. Coming soon....

As great as this unit sounds I don't think I'm getting 6hrs on a charge with my M1 hooked up to it. I charged them both up fully and the BL says it's at 10% and the M1 still shows full bars. Probably going to send this back.

Congrats to all the tour winners, great respect to all reviewers - I had great time reading the reviews thread!

And thanks to iFi for making yet another great product and for keeping being closely interacting with the community - something many companies are lacking.

Hello everybody

I'm considering this little unit as a transportable DAC/amp, but I was wondering: Does it mute the output for the first second or so when you manually start playback, like the Micro BL and Mojo?

I could not find any posts indicating that it does but I'd like to be sure before I order.

Edit: Also, I have a Massdrop Portapro which has a 4-pole 3.5mm jack (audio+microphone). Will this be a problem for the Nano BL, considering its 4-pole output jacks?

Folks, you probably know already that our big MQA update is here already. We still have some aces left up in our sleeves, but for the sake of spreading the good word, we'll post our official release here as well:

Extra Ordinary MQA Easter Egg

Introduction

With Easter just around the corner, iFi audio has delivered an eagerly anticipated upgrade option as a very special Easter gift.

iFi first introduced MQA into its product mix with the nano iDSD Black Label in November 2017. Since then, iFi customers across the globe have been asking when this option would be available in other iFi products. The good news is that the latest improvements to the nano Black Label firmware version 5.30, ‘Cookies & Cream’, does just that.

Mqa for all

This latest firmware flavour not only adds the latest scoop to the nano iDSD Black Label sundae but it also dishes out MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio to the full range* of iFi audio products going back to 2013!

This ‘legacy’ update means that you can now download the MQA upgrade (PC and Mac) straight from the Support section of iFi’s website at no extra cost.

Mqa optimised

Firmware version 5.30 will optimise your device for MQA and can handle up to DSD256 and PCM384. Enjoy the MQA magic like never before.

And Finally…

None of the above would have been possible without the MQA software engineers who worked tirelessly alongside the iFi software team to make this unique opportunity happen. Thank you.

Go to https://ifi-audio.com/audio_blog/mqa-firmware/ to enjoy your upgrade.

This firmware provides MQA rendering as this is the ideal solution for portable products and those with power considerations. This means the workload is shared between the host (the computer) and the client (the DAC). The listener will still enjoy full MQA experience.

For more information on MQA, go to http://www.mqa.co.uk/customer/how-it-works

Legacy

*The only exception is the original iDAC.
