I would like iFi to respond to the issue with batteries...
at one time I thought to myself that if a battery would go bad then I could either replace the dead battery or just use the unit as a desktop and not worry about the battery... well... I had my micro battery go bad last year... tried to get a replacement battery.. no dice.. they don't sell you a battery to replace a bad one... and to make it even worse.. my assumption that the unit would play as a desktop drawing power from the USB was also wrong... in my case for my micro... when the battery died... it wouldn't work as a portable or a desktop unit... it was just dead... asked for a new battery to replace it myself and it was nope... so I ended up getting the micro black as the replacement... so battery management is probably more important than some of us might realize...or you might end up with a dead unit...

Please send us your product and we'll replace that battery for you.

This thing is a Greek Tragedy.
To be fair, my feedback is targeted for those using Roon. After the Driver Download, Uninstall, Reinstall, Restart, Firmware Update, numerous Uninstalls and Restarts; I was able to achieve the coveted Majenta from Tidal playing Master Files/MQA. I was using the Tidal Desktop App exclusively.
The issue is that when changing file types in Roon (DSD, FLAC, 24/96 FLAC, 24/192 FLAC, Tidal, Tidal Masters, etc.); the iDSD BL mutes and will not play. The "trigger" seems to be DSD & Hi-Res FLAC files. Once I played one of these file types, the iDSD BL would mute if I selected any type of Tidal track. I tried to isolate the issue but after 2 Hours of nonsense I gave up.
How does it sound as a DAC coupled with my Jotunhiem? No clue. I was so frustrated that I repackaged the iDSD BL to return before I even considered evaluating the sound quality. Is it a Firmware issue? I downloaded and installed the latest Firmware from iFi. I honestly don't care.
I have been considering this DAC since it was released in November. I was encouraged with the latest review from Sound & Vision. I am willing to allow that it may be a "me" issue. That being said, I have never encountered this with any of the numerous Schiit, AudioQuest, LH Labs, Micca or Creative DACs that I have owned. Buyer beware.

mks100... I feel you pain.
As my habit goes I like to search Tidal "What's New" Masters sections for new stuff. Last night while switching between master albums the iDSD mutes. I had to disconsolate and reconnect the iDSD 4 plus times to get to start playing MQA again. Good luck trying to figure it out. I am not so sure it is a problem with the iDSD per-say. I have a new clean Windows 10 install and I was happening before and now again. For me it seems to happen when I switch files while one is playing... as though the handshake from one file to the other is dropped.

The Sound & Vision Bristol Show 2018 is in the past now. Things happened there, oh yes they did!

Yup, that's our full Pro rig on the Pro iRack.

Some people were impressed more than just 'mildly'....

And we had someone (aka The Cap'n) in there to answer the most technical questions there are.

Has anyone done a sound comparison with the Nano iDSD BL and the Mojo?

I have been comparing the two on a number of CIEMs and the Focal Clears. A brief preview is a very different sounding, the Mojo having a bit more mellow, tube like sound, versus the very incisive, detailed iDSD BL.

Interesting, as I think the BL sounds a bit loose and tubey through my mac with Amarra. Through my S7 it sounds much more punchy, which is what I'm looking for. God to know about the Mojo as I do not want mellow.

Hello, I'm interested in buying this, but can someone clarify, what Measure/Listern filter changes, and how actually it will affect SQ. Thank you.

I generally like measure filters better for being a tad brighter, a tad more aggressive, and a tad more revealing, while listen tends to be a tad smoother, a tad less aggressive and maybe a touch more musical. The difference is so small, that to some, it can be inaudible

measure is generally bit-perfect, while listen is usually not bit perfect and it is a tad smoother or enhanced

To be honest, I think that music of bands like mindless self indulgence reveals this the most, they have extremely unqiue synths that bear certain textures where this can be revealing, or at least I grew used to this music so I can easily detect changes in sonics with that :)
