Would like to know whether it can be run off the mains (in desktop mode) indefinitely without causing battery degradation and whether the battery is serviceable?

Someone needs to just post that in the first thread. It runs from the battery regardless of whether it is plugged in via USB-C. There is no desktop mode that does not use the battery.

The battery will degrade, but apparently it is easy to replace.

This is correct, thanks! :L3000:

Can you provide a little more clarification on what you mean by "listen to microphones when I turn the volume up or down"?

Are you using IEMatch if you're talking about noise from impedance with sensitive IEMs?
The noise I hear is a small distortion when moving the volume wheel, only when raising or lowering the volume. Regardless of whether I use iematch or not, I never use it, but I have tried it and it still sounds.
It happens with any headset. The same thing happens in my friend's silver micro idsd ifi unit. I think it is a failure of many units. The sound is great, I only hear it when I move the wheel.
I think I will process the grant.
Has it happened to anyone?
Cheers

Apologies if this has been asked previously but what are the output impedances of the onboard IEMatch? I recall the OG iDSD had a larger output impedance on High but not on Ultra. I’m not sure what the exact numbers on Signature are. Does it change on the S-balanced out?

I'm noticing i get better sound quality on turbo at 11:30 than I get on normal at around 2:30 (adjusted for same loudness). It's like on turbo, I get harder bass and more treble/soundstage than on normal, which seems to get much more midrange. The reason I tried normal is at 11:45 on turbo, that's the highest I want to go, after that, it's blasting, and I don't want to inadvertently damage my headphones. It's like on normal, the midrange is being raised more than the bass/treble, but it also sounds smoother. turbo, sounds more dynamic.

Probably 18650's so even on amazon...

These are for vaping :p

Where can I buy a new replacement battery?

Once you need it, please let us know and perhaps we'll be able to help.

It's <1Ω if iEMatch is not engaged, otherwise 2.5Ω.

Do you have iEMatch for 4.4mm balanced?
