I got the Go Pod a few months ago from my buddies at Bloom and it breathed new life into my trusty old JH Lola that had been collecting dust.
Glad to hear they are working out for you, we appreciate it!

Cheers!!

I am considering buying the IfI Go pod for use with my UE custom reference remastered IEMs. The source would be a Samsung S20+ (for now) with Amazon Music HD - how important is the mobile phone itself in terms of source, and what do folks' portable setups look like?

The biggest concern with the source is (hires) bt audio signal stability. You have the best chance of good compatibility, if you device is on the official list of devices supporting Snapdragon Sound. Even if it's missing from it, there's still a good chance if it's running on a relatively recent Snapdragon chipset.
In your example it can make a difference if it it's a US model with Snapdragon chipset or global version on Exynos.

I have been using the S20+ (USA, Snapdragon) since I started using BT music out. The quality of my previous BT solutions was...not great. I mean I am not expecting a BT solution to match my home setup, but really hoping: (i) that the volume is louder than it was on my Ultimate Ears bluetooth setup; and (ii) that the sound quality is significantly better.

I use my Go Pods with my S20 Ultra. Sources include Amazon Music, Tidal, and Apple Music (Android app). This delivers great audio with my choice of IEMs, and portability for me.

Will the iFi GoPod connect to your custom UERR's without an adapter? My UERR's have an IPX T2 connection which I did not think was an option for the GoPod. If I'm wrong, I think I would consider the GoPod as well.

I would reach out to iFi. I know that they did tool up a T2 variant as it came packaged with the Westone Audio Mach 60 bundle. In fact, I've got a set of GoPods with T2 connectors on my desk in front of me.

Thanks AnyDave! I checked iFi's website and they now sell a T2 ear hook for the GoPod. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the standard GoPod package, but can be purchased separately for $29.99. Problem solved!
