Cheers, but yeah I make a habit of doing that anyway.
Was worth a shot!

On Monday I'm gonna inquire as to anyone in support hearing off this to see what they say.

You had our have a ticket open right?

Cheers!!

Perhaps there are multiple hardware revisions of the Go Pods with different rates of this issue with the drop outs occurring. I notice that the downloads page gives two different possible formats of the serial number required before download. Perhaps users could note which “range” of serial numbers theirs fall in in order to establish a trend.

I have not experienced this issue unless I separate the left and right too far. The Go Pods aren’t as robust at establishing and re-establishing left-right connectivity between the pods as the Shure TW2, which are always able to stay in sync.

Hi I agree on the shure tw2 for me the connection is a lot more stable for me. In comparison the go pods even when close to my music player there are disconnects sometimes on the left ear piece or intermittent breaks in connection for both ear pieces. Note this happens both indoors and outdoors.. Even when I put the player rightnext to the pods when playing this happens

My personal opinion is that everyone who is encountering even the slightest issue with their GO Pods, should open a ticker at iFi Support to make iFi Audio aware and also to prevent future issues. I've also opened a ticket because my GO Pod, three times so far, cannot playback music after a phone-call or a WhatsApp call. Only my phone's speakers play. Not a big deal, it doesn't happen often, but iFi Audio should be aware.

I have quite possibly stumbled across an accidentally opportune solution to my static/distortion issue that I have mentioned experiencing on this forum over the last month or so. I'm thinking of getting a new pair of IEM's (Moondrop Variations) which are 2 pins, rather than MMCX's which I normally get. So I thought I would make sure the Go Pods had 2 pin connector in the box (they do) and so I attached them to make sure it would be ok if I bought the Moondrops. This obviously meant I had to detach and then re-attach the MMCX connector and after going on two half hour walks today I was pleasantly surprised to find that the distortion never occured once. This has been an impossibility for a few months now, the distortion would have happened several times over the course of the walks. Fingers crossed it's problem solved, albeit by a stroke of luck.

I was having a bug on Android (Samsung Fold 4) where the Go Pod would just completely stop playing sound randomly (mostly happens after taking a phone call and then returning to listen to music). The Go Pod would still show as connected and everything seemed fine but no sound would route to the Go Pod anymore. Disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth wouldn't fix the issue either with the only fix being putting the Go Pod back in the case and taking it back out (forcing a power off/on). I ran into this bug not super frequently but enough to be annoying. It's almost like it doesn't want to switch back to normal audio listening mode after taking a phone call or something.

Tried reverting from 1.54 back to 1.49 which still had the same bug. Only going back to 1.39 which I was initially using seems to prevent the bug from happening. Perfectly happy with using 1.39, just a bit odd that only the latest firmwares are showing this issue.

Please report this bug using our support ticket system so they can put it in the system, that can be done by submitting a ticket here...

It is always a good practice to report these things when they are found, I can report them but the ticket system is the best way.

Thank you!

Cheers!!

I went ahead and submitted a ticket regarding this today as well.

Just wanted to point out again that I have no issues whatsoever on firmware 1.39, so I am convinced this bug was introduced on the newer firmwares and should certainly be fixable by iFi.

It's great you've opened a ticket, it is the right thing to do!

With iFi Audio, we can expect a fix, we can hope for a result, in a reasonable amount of time. It's worth it to report the issues, they are not like FiiO who never really fix anything, they never really care.

Hope you're enjoying your GO Pod with firmware V1.39, as you're missing significant sound quality improvements, as I've posted here.

Have anyone tested low-latency codecs Adaptive/LHDC for used for movies or gaming?
Still has not ordered the lovely tech of the Go Pod, but has really downsized my office headfi setup and looking either just a Questyle M15 via USB-C or the other route would be the Go Pod together with either the LHDC One or some LDAC transmitter(or alternative BT stack for Windows). This setup are my WFH for the most of the day where is will be conference calls and music but still even with the kids still like to game a little time to time. (and yes, I know BT and Gaming is what it is but I am not going to compete for the next CS2 tournament :L3000:)

I can test the latency of the aptX codecs if you will instruct me exactly on how to do this :)

Thanks mate, don't really have scientific way to test - just your opinion on using them for gaming or a streaming service with video. Does the sound sync properly with the video and so on. Have tried a few adaptive TWS which was massively different in performance for video. But honestly been using my Poly UC60 for gaming the last few nights and that is okay just not there compared to the sound profile I like for Music/Gaming.

I wonder what would cause this other than a "not quite snug" connection. I will also convey this, perhaps this is why some are not having the same issue, I will also check some of my IEMs although I think most of mine are 2 pin.

Cheers!!

I have been trying my Fiio FH5 for a few hours now, albeit not outside pouring here, lol

I also realized that my RAI Penta are also MMCX connectors and I had no issues with them. Let us know how you make out with the current situations, perhaps trying other IEMS with that connector if possible.

Cheers!!

I may have spoken too soon. After two days of no issues it was back to some static/distortion tonight. I wonder if the connection is loosening over time? I'll be getting my new IEM's tomorrow. So it'll be interesting to see how these 2 pin IEM's perform or if they give me same issue. In the last week I'll have got a new phone and new IEM's, and if the problem still persists you'd have to think it's the Go Pods that look most likely to be at fault. Although as I said in an earlier post there are a lot of spinning plates when you add everything together to arrive at the end result of sound coming through a pair of IEM's, any link in the chain could be causing it.

Will be very interesting to hear about your experience!

I am sure you have already thought of this, but just in case… because by their nature MMCX are a loose connector (that’s why they rotate!), they can get contamination in them. Cleaning out the IEM side if the connection to keep it free from contamination may also help.
