iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

Will be very interesting to hear about your experience!

I am sure you have already thought of this, but just in case… because by their nature MMCX are a loose connector (that’s why they rotate!), they can get contamination in them. Cleaning out the IEM side if the connection to keep it free from contamination may also help.
Thanks yeah have cleaned them out.

Thanks yeah have cleaned them out.
I don't know if you have ever heard of this product but it is completely safe for all electronics, pots, connections, etc

It's called DeoxIT D5 it is a small spray can and the cleaning liquid inside dries very quickly. I have been using it for years on all sorts of things. Musicians swear by it for pots, sliders, and any connection ports that may need a quick cleaning. I always have a can around as it goes a long way.

Report your findings to support, perhaps they can get you a new set of connectors to see if it makes a difference.

Cheers!!

Thanks mate, don't really have scientific way to test - just your opinion on using them for gaming or a streaming service with video. Does the sound sync properly with the video and so on. Have tried a few adaptive TWS which was massively different in performance for video. But honestly been using my Poly UC60 for gaming the last few nights and that is okay just not there compared to the sound profile I like for Music/Gaming.

Hello, thanks for your patience, I was super busy but tonight I've had a chance to test the GO Pod with my Windows 11 laptop. First time I've paired them together, I only use my Pods paired with my phone for listening to Music.

Well, everything sounds great with the GO Pod on my laptop! I've listened to YouTube Premium a bit and right now I'm watching Dune on Netflix! It sounds fantastic (currently, I'm using my 7Hz Timeless with the Pods), and there's absolutely no latency issue! The actor's voices are heard as their lips move and the sound matches perfectly with their lips' movement.

I can say that the GO Pod sounds fantastic for movie reproduction! Personally, I am using the UTWS5 to watch movies at night, lying down on my bed, before going to sleep, so I won't be using the GO Pod for this use case but it is brilliant! Again, no lag at all!

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that on Windows 11 I am using the Alternative A2DP Driver, as shown in the screenshot.

I do not play computer games, lately, sorry

Hope this helps :)

That's some good info there!

I think at some point I will give them a go in my theatre, I use a Shield TV there so it should be no issue connecting. Hopefully, I will have the same as you with no lip-sync issues as that will drive me nuts! lol

Thanks for the impressions!

Cheers!!

Hope I haven't put a hex on it, but I think the answer to the problems lay with the connectors. I took your advice and contacted support who sent them out the next day(kudos to them) and after using for several hours there is not even the merest hint of that horrible static and distortion.
If there are no problems over the weekend, by which time I'll have put 3 or 4 hours more listening in, I think we'd be able to put it to bed and mark my ticket as resolved.

Today, for the first time ever, I tried to connect my GO Pod with 2 devices at the same time. With my smartphone (Galaxy S23 Ultra) and with my HP Windows 11 laptop.

So, I paired my GO Pod with both devices. The last device I paired it with was my laptop. Then I tried to listen from my smartphone and it could not connect. I disabled Bluetooth on my laptop and then my GO Pod connected to my phone. I listened to some music. Then I enabled Bluetooth on my laptop. The GO Pod could not connect. I disabled Bluetooth on my phone and clicked "connect" on my laptop, and only then my GO Pod connected again.

Since it is the first time I've tried this, I'd like to ask:
- Is this how it is supposed to work?
So, do I need to disable Bluetooth in one device for the GO Pod to connect and play on the other device?
Or, do I need to manually connect and disconnect for the GO Pod to work with each device?

You can just disconnect the pods first ( long press until short beep) and then connect from other device.

Or if what you’re asking is does it support multipoint - no, it doesn’t.

Yes, that is what I was wondering, if it supports multipoint connection, it does not, thank you for clarifying.

What I was saying - and sorry if I wasn’t clear - is that I also get better performance indoors, because indoors there are walls and objects that can reflect the signals and thus increasing range and quality, but outdoors there are fewer such opportunities for reflecting the signals. This is not unique to the Go Pods, but to all BT devices.
I agree 100%. I had quite a bit of gardening to do and thought, with my Go Pods and IEMs listening to my music through Roon would make it much less a chore. My tablet gets a very good wifi signal to Roon. But the Go pods get about 15 feet from my tablet and I lose signal. The only way to make this work is go pods connected to my phone in my back pocket. Then, I must use Roon via Arc which is through data connection and not wifi. Oh, well.

Morning @iFi audio do you know the current fix times for units that have been sent for repair note it's the 2 nd time I have sent my unit in with the 1st time taking a few weeks to turn around thanks
The times would vary by the amount of service tickets, and also by area, so it would be difficult to narrow down an approximate time for you, but based on your last time frame it should be around there. Obviously, service time, parts, and other things factor into this. Hopefully, it will be a fairly quick turnaround for you.

Sorry, wish I could be more specific.

Cheers!!

I'm pretty happy with this combo: LHDC One -> Go Pods -> Shure se846

The only downside is "no calls"/"no voice" using LHDC One.

And all in the palm of my hand! Amazing

Hey, question to those who's had some experience with connecting Go Pods to LHDC One - how did you achieve consistency in pairing across different sources (aindroid, win)? For me it's been kind of a hit and miss - sometimes it connects with no issues, sometimes have to try several times, switch into pairing mode etc.

Hi @iFi audio hope all is well i recently sent my device to get looked at ref the left ear piece cutting out. I'm still having the same issue intermittently. Also times when the connection drops out for both of them with a beep then starts playing again.

Note the device is right next to me and not in the pocket and I have tried diff Bluetooth connections

Also I have a shure wirless adapter which has no cut outs on the same devices

Can you take a look ref ticket 182965 Ps I have reopened the ticket thanks

Ps by the looks of it others are reporting the same issue so there is a wider issue in play. If it's a firmware issue can I revert to the original one to test if so how
I also started experiencing and over the last week it's gotten worse. Same symptoms, left piece will cut out periodically and on occasion both will go out
