iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

This is not a beta products at all but it's just a very unrefined product. It has the sound quality it's just not fleshed out enough in many other ways
Despite our difference of opinion on the case (I like it but acknowledge the flip mechanism could be a weak point), I agree that it needs a big piece of work espicially around an app (which to be fair they seem to be working on).

The sound quality though is excellent, the more I use it the more it grows on me. I keep doing little sessions with the BTR7 and to me it is far more refined in it's sound presentation.

How long does the battery last, how many hours can you listen to LDAC 990/909kbps before needing to recharge?

Thanks for your opinions again!

In regards to the app its intended use all along was for firmware updates only, an easy and simple way to perform it.

I know that in today's world, we are all looking for a companion app for many different things, EQ, etc. But I can say this, The GO Pods original design concept was intended to be an "app-less" experience, in other words, sort of a put-them-on, no app to fiddle with, and have great sound.

Now again I know that's contrary to the norm, but nonetheless, that was the original intention to my knowledge.

Now iFi has slightly changed that stance and is working on its own app for all things, but that in no way is a bad thing, it's just iFi responding to customers.

Hope that helps in understanding the GO PODS.

Cheers!!

For me perosnally I don't mind it not having an app, like you say I pop them in ears and hit play...job done. I think what I meant but didn't put into context properly is that for certain users who like to use apps and want to tinker with stuff then an app would be a big piece of work. My understanding is that apps to cover all tastes and desires and different verisons of Android and IOS is not always easily achieved.

For me it is excellent in it's appless state! The Gaia client app is easy to use and gets the job done that it needs to do

Thank you for your insight. I’m all for a simple and basic app. My only negative with regards to the app that iFI uses is that it does not provide any proactive notifications that new firmware is available. The Go Pod users have to consciously remind ourselves to check for firmware updates.

I have not done any sort of battery drain tests to see exactly how long they last. I use my God Pod with a Sony DAP and what I found is that the battery in my DAP seems to drain faster that the Go Pod. I have gone for as long as 5 days without plugging in the Go Pod case to charge and during that time I’ve probably put in over 20 hours of listening with the Go Pod. The Go Pod will stay on and continues to drain the battery when it is not in the case. I always put them back in the case when I need to take them out of my ears for more than 30 minutes. For me the battery life seems to be very good.

I can see your point there 100%!

I will mention this, and see if there may be some possibility of any "notification" system, Thanks!

Cheers!!

Nice!! Enjoy!

Cheers!!

Happy for you! Looking forward to your impressions :)

Just a quick listen but these are really impressive SQ wise compared to the UTWS5.

More depth, vertical and horizontal staging. Excellent low end emphasis without the bloat. Increases the sense of space and air all around with an incredible level of preservation of detail with Ronin. It gives a clean presentation overall without colouring the IEMs original tuning too much. BT really has come a long way.

Touch controls are very responsive and working as intended. No issues so far.

Has anyone tried fitting their customs with the GO Pod? I probably have medium sized ears and my case lid won't close completely with mine in there.
