Are there any great methods to mark Ety earphones to distinguish right from left at a glance rather than needing to shine light on the L/R markings that are incredibly difficult to see?

Put a small piece of tape on one side?

Yep, did that before I even saw your response! Painters tape blue almost matches the Ety color, too.

Never got any of that. I was meaning that the ER4SR with +6db boost just wins for detail & decay/attack. Any Dynamic headphone just sound sloppy to any good BA headphone like the ER4.
i was thinking of making a passive attenuator/bass bypass circuit, basically it reduces the level of all the frequencies except the bass
it means that you will need to give it more volume to get the same loudness level but the bass will be at the increased volume .... but i have never listened to my ER4SR's at my amp's maximum volume anyway so there's room to spare
and this will be completely analogue so that the sound quality is preserved
also, make it so that the bass bypass is adjustable on each side, so that i can center my bass response
only problem is finding a way to make the inductors with high enough values which correspond to low frequencies....

same, i also can't use the 3 flange because it bends and chokes the sound if i push it to deep. i usually use a double flange that i got from a cheap IEM, and i recently tried some spinfit twinblades that were mostly useless for me on regular IEMs, but (surprisingly) fit nicely on my Etys. sounds a bit different from triflanges, but not a bad sound either
Sadly, while I admit to getting the best sound with the triple flange, I can't wear them for too long. :frowning2:

Double flanges for me as well. I also experiment with the westone tip pack from time to time.

Would removing the bottom largest flange work? Or would that affect the sound negatively?

Some tried it and find it useful. As to sound, I think it's just about how it'll fit to your ear. If double flange fit better, then go for it. The key is the fit. When you wear your earphone, you should just hear the space IMO :)

I really tried to use the search function, but although i'm sure the info is around here … i couldn't find a clear answer

Simple question: in the ER4P, is the 22ohm (i remember using 18ohm before) resistor the only thing in the path?
Or was there some L pad setup with something connected to the ground?

"ER4P's specification of 27 ohm includes the 20 ohm resistor, the 5 ohm resistance of the drive unit and 2 ohm of the cord itself"

Hope it helps.

Just learned this Lucid Audio 'thing' and didn't like it. It seems they just attracted by Etymotic's patents and experience.
It seems they acquired Westone too:
https://audioxpress.com/news/lucid-...io-the-music-division-of-westone-laboratories

I hope they'll continue to produce ER4 series in USA, too. As you know ER2 and ER3 series are manufacturing in China.

Nowadays it's easy to find new ER4 series -relatively- cheap like $160-$200. Also it seems official price reduced to $309 from $349:
https://www.etymotic.com/consumer/earphones/er4-micropro-earphones-373.html

I think they'll deplete stock for repackaging it as Lucid Audio or Etymotic, Lucid Audio company etc. Some website already started to sell it as "Lucid Audio ER4":

https://www.bulldogshoppingnetwork.com/Product/486-624

Last but not least, some users complaining about customer service of Etymotic recently and it's just worrying. I also tried to contact them about my ER4SR but couldn't get answer. I hope it's just my anxiety. It'd be great if we can hear something from inside.
