I have a similar problem with my IUSB and Gemini cable. The blue USB works fine with IUSB and Micro IDSD. I would contact Ifi and set up a ticket.

Tom

I have discover something about my problem which you also have, the problem why it could not detect after connecting to the Gemini cable is because of the USB voltage. For some reason some PC USB port like my PC only supply 4.96V and thus I can never get it to work (IUSB + Gemini + IDSD Micro). I tried hooking it to a powered USB hub and it measure 5.12V and well suddenly everything works. So I suggest if anyone want to hook up like my config and happens to not work like mine, try hooked it up to a powered USB 2 or 3 HUB. It does work on my 1.5 yrs laptop though without any problem.

My google-fu is failing me, guys. What is the output power on 300 and 600 ohm loads?

According to the user manual, 8 Volts is available in Turbo mode.

8 X 8 / 600 = 0.106 = 106 mW

8 X 8 / 300 = 0.212 = 212 mW

For a T1, the Eco mode (2 Volts) is more than enough.

For M50's, Eco mode and High Sensitivity are needed.

Edit: a few more words on the T1. 2 X 2 / 600 = 0.00666 = 6.6 mW. Now that doesn't sound like much. However, the T1 outputs 102 dB per mW. That's already loud. 2 mW = 105 dB. 4 mW = 108 dB. 6.6 mW will be somewhere around 109 dB. That's very loud indeed.

Incidentally, the micro iDSD drives the T1 beautifully (as does the micro iCAN).

hi!  folks,  just would like to check with idsd micro owners if they could hear any "improvement" or "enhanced" bass when the "Xbass" toggle switch is in the "+" position?  i understand that other factors like music material, music formats, types of headphones, etc. also play a part.

thank you.

The 3D is more obviously improved but the XBass is only noticeable in sub bass mostly

hope it helps

The only way I was able to hear a difference was using test tracks that went below 90hz. The effect then became dramatically apparent. For my normal listening, the switch made no difference at all and at first I thought I had a defective unit.

EISA award = 3.5mm ribbon cable giveway at National Audio Show

We have hardly had the chance to draw breath after returning from the EISA awards ceremony (even the airport security staff at Tegel Airport congratulated us!)

Nevertheless, we shall be at the Headzones exhibition at the National Audio Show on 20-21 September at Whittlebury Hall. We are still on cloud nine following the EISA ward  - so visitors to the iFi booth in Headzones will each receive a free 3.5mm>3.5mm ribbon cable  in a soft velvet iFi pouch (while stocks last).

At the NAS, Chris Martens from HiFi+ will be demonstrating headphone setups with the “white hot” micro iDSD. There are also 5 iFi iDSD machines up for grabs for HiFI+ subscribers.

We look forward to seeing you there as we can hardly contain our excitement!
