The pads for the SR2 and SR3 are the same (both pad versions). I got spare pads directly from iBasso a while ago, but don't see the pads listed on their website.
Where can I source new pads for my SR2? I'm after the stock pair that come installed on the SR2. I'm still using this headphone almost daily. Aside from a custom set I had built, these are still at the top of my arsenal, including cans that costed considerably more. I have the new closed back Aune on my radar.
I just want to chime in here a bit... While it is open, it doesn't leak sound like some other open backs (Hifimans for instance). So it is something you can take with you on the go, though I might not use it in a quiet library. If there is just enough ambient noise, it may not be picked up by the people around you. For those that do want to take them outside, I highly, highly recommend the Muse Ultra M5 in vacuum tube mode. This combination sounds wonderful!
Hello, The ibasso sr3 is available for 500 euro from ibaso europe. So have been looking at it for a while, first vs the meze 108 but now that the 105 has come out versus that one.
Has anyone been able to compare these two headphones directly?

I use the Sony R-10, Utopia and the SR3 a lot. All different, all enjoyable. The SR3 gets the most detail, the R-10 and Utopia are smoother but that is because they don't pull out all of the tiny details. At 600 dollars the SR3 is on the same level, just a different sound but big and open line the $-10 and $topia. :^) Oh, and timbre, which I value is good on all three and I play the violin and harmonica so I also hear real live music/sounds.
Most details from the sr3, interesting. What meant to say is sr3 comparison to any zmf. Bokeh looks the closest cost wise. I just bought the he1k with the intention to return it just to compare with the sr3. Had the he1k on back order previously but cancelled it as the earcups are apparently huge on the hifiman. To which I have a small head. But I’m going to test drive one properly rather than assume. And the Arya half price of the he1k, wondering if the war up sizes are the same on the hifiman. Whilst I’m still very very much in awe of the sr3 performance for the price (only paid £180 for them) they are going to be very difficult to upgrade, or even sidegrade. The only others I’ve been thinking about is the lcd-4.
Well just got a pair of these Sr3's after much contemplating between Aune Sr7000, Fiio Ft7 (both of which I'll still probably try eventually) I remembered IBasso! Took a chance on this one but so far I have to agree with Jamato.
My daily headphones are Susvara and Austrian Audio The Composer and these are so good so far I could easily live with them right along with the other two. The ability to see into a recording is excellent, definitely not a "midfi" quality sound. But I'll also note I'm running them on fairly high end amps

The ability to see into a recording is excellent, definitely not a "midfi" quality sound. But I'll also note I'm running them on fairly high end amps
I recently also acquired a pair, and I agree that they easily outrun their price range. I have to say that every iBasso I've ever bought has exceeded expectations, and this only continues that pattern.
I think if this company was named Hifiman or an American, Japanese or British even they'd be 2k.
This leather headband is unbelievably good. The drivers I can tell are high quality as well of course.
These are getting scary close to the best of the best, unfortunately many will be turned off not thinking IBasso could possibly be this good and not take a chance.
It’s a funny hobby.
I entered the hobby and bought some iem and portable gear and enjoy it immensely, so I thought why not use up the space on my desk at work? So I went out to get the best budget performance for desktop. Then it spiralled. The SR3 now is not at work and at home, with the D16.
I didn’t want to bring the SR3 home as I enjoyed it so much from the desktop amps, but the HD700 just wasn’t giving me the fizz so I did a swapsie.
I’ve learnt 2 things:
1: I was unhappy with my 2 main headphones in what I needed from them. I wanted more bass from the HD700 and less bass on the SR3. And that solved the issue.
2: it’s really strange, but don’t build your chain to emphasise one aspect, build it to bring it up to the levels of its good points.
But that’s just my opinion
And it’s made me appreciate them all over again

Both the SR2 and SR3 are still my favorite headphones. The cost to performance ratio is absolutely incredible imo. I recently acquired the SR7000. It's one of a kind. The spacial imaging and separation is unlike anything I've heard in a closed back. That being said, I like the overall timbre and tonality of the Ibasso cans better. The Aune is definitely a keeper, and I recommend grabbing a set when you can. Both cans have an excellent midrange, are soulful, musical, with nice resolution that doesn't become sterile, analytical, or fake.
They are just so well made, it really puts to shame much more expensive headphones in build quality. I need to buy an otl amp however. I must admit it's not Susvara good but I never expected it to be, but it is hd800 good and competitive up to 2k imo. Much much better than Ether 2 imo.
I've noticed these really wake up with higher volumes. I'm not sure I've reached their top performance yet even with some totl solid state amps, as I think I may need to get an otl for these.
Echoing what others have said, I've had these for almost a year now and really love them. I'm now looking for a closed back that delivers the same sort of sound, what would you say is the equivalent in a closed back?
