Yes, absolutely! iBasso SR2 is a high-sensitivity headphone, it can be powered by a normal phone/computer. The most important factor for a high-sensitivity headphone like the SR2 is that the noise floor of your source is low enough that the headphones do not pick up noise.

I haven't heard the HP3, but I think you're looking at two relatively different sound signatures. From what I've read anyways.

Yes, should totally be able to!

I found SR2 to be somewhat hard to drive, but M8 is fairly meaty too, shouldn't have trouble with them

From what I've read, the HP3 is warmer and darker. I can't speak on the bass quality or quantity comparison.

Yes, the SR2 does an outstanding job of balancing weight and details. Most headphones I've tried lean in one direction or the other. I'm using mine with the Shanling M6 Pro, that you helped me decide on - Thank you
