I would try something like a tooth brush, preferably one you aren't using any longer. :^) Or someone else's. 95% or more of the time it is something in the grill that is decreasing the sound.

Topkek :)

I want to emphasize this, had this issue before with a pair of IEMs, a few brushes did the trick :)

Thank you for your replies - it makes sense to me, I'll try this when I get home this evening.

Thanks again, the brush has done the trick although I am now wondering if there may actually be some wax that has worked it's way into the grill as these are quite a deep insertion for me.
I've heard of someone soaking their iem tips/mesh in a rubbing alcohol to break down any wax etc - is there any methods for thoroughly cleansing the grill?

I recently got IT01 from a reseller and had the known MMCX issue. in fact the cable mmcx connectors did not work at all, while the earphones worked fine with any other cable. long story short I got a replacement set and noticed the new set had removable screens in the nozzles, just like the ones on IT01S. 2 pieces of spare screens with extra rings were included as well.
Don't know if this is a new revision or a prototype or whatever, but thanks iBasso for a useful feature:)

No, the original IT01 came with no removable grills and o-rings. It's a recent addition, I suppose following the introduction of the IT01S.
Confirm that. I have 1st gen IT01 and it didn`t have removeable grills (which imho is great as without grills IT01 is better SQ).

I finally got some isopropyl alcohol and soaked the grills briefly - it has done the trick and I now have a perfectly balanced sound again. Thanks for the input all.

I got a pair of the it01 and have paired it with the fiio lc 2.5b cable. I've been tip rolling but havent been entirely satisfied with any of the tips, what are some good ones to try that are better than ones supplied? I don't mind if silicone or foam. the best ones i tried were the white foam ones that were included. the only problem is it feels too far out of my ear.

Good morning, friends.

I just realized that the sound from the right side is much lower than the left one. I have superficially cleaned the filter with a paper and it seems that some volume has recovered. Is there a way to unscrew the filters for more thorough cleaning? Thank you all!
