I wonder if making sure to select microsd cards of a certain type/speed/class would help to minimize this problem?  This is pretty much the last problem we have on my son's DX90,and the last reason why I don't own myself one now.

I have dropouts with sandisk ultra 64gb and kingston 64gb class 10. I know a person with a different DX90 that has droputs with toshiba 64Gb micro sd so I don't think the problem is related to a specific type of micro sd card.

Just my two cents...

I think that it has been clearly stated that we're all talking about a bug that comes with our favourite player. iBasso should try to have it solved for following releases.

Let's hope they're reading this thread...

Cheers.

On the dropout issue - a few thoughts/questions for those experiencing the problem:

1) Anyone reverted back to 2.1 from 2.1.5 yet to see if that helps?  I had no issues until 2.1.5 but have not gone back to 2.1 yet.
2) Not 100% sure on this but I believe the only times I experienced dropouts were when playing from a Playlist.  Anyone else that can confirm?
3) Have not tried the solution from Lurker yet but it's on my short list of things to try soon.

Cheers,
Tim

1) It does not help.

2) It happens also playing from album / artist.

Well ain't that a rotten peach

!  Guess I won't waste time there - on to option 3 then.

Has anyone been in contact with iBasso about this and do they recognize it as a bug they are working to fix?

Don't recall encountering with my DX50.

Cheers,
Tim

I have tried option 3 with no luck (2 dropouts this morning in a 2 hour session).

I sent ibasso an email yesterday morning. No reply yet.

What I don't understand is that if according to Lurker the problem is not DX90 related but from how micro sd cards work why not all DAPs have this problem.

I read through this thread trying to see if there were any bugs that would be a deal breaker.  The dropouts are a concern.  My needs are simple, a directory browse of 99 percent FLAC files with a LO and HO output.  I m still trying to decide between the Fiio X5 and DX90 and I have reached information overload on which would be better for my needs.

The drop out bug is a strange one. It affect many but by no way everybody. I had it several times on aac over 6 months ago but has not experienced it since. I use the DX90 several hours every day with 7 different cards

Well - I hope iBasso can figure it out because it really is flipping annoying as heck - like an old record skipping or a cassette deck that eats a tape

!  And for reference I had it happen today while listening to a direct artist/album selection as well like WriterHead stated above.

Please keep us posted if they respond to your email.  And if not maybe more of us should fire off emails to them as well.

Cheers,
Tim
