Only after inserting a card

Yes but I would try another card and/or to take everything off the card, format it and them put just a few known things on it to see if it repeats. There may be something on the card or the card itself compounding this.

Tried three cards. Even tried with one track on! Tried flashing firmware, resets. Always get Scan now message. DB file fine, just annoying prompt.

I just tried two cards, 64gb Sandisk and a 128gb Sandisk, both with 1 track each. I tried formatting them different ways, exFAT and NTFS. Also I did factory resets when trying them and I stripped the tags off these files and the DX90 still prompts to Scan or Browse when I turn it on. It is also on the latest firmware, 2.1.0

Also, I'd like to comment that I am not experiencing any issues scanning the card in the Ibasso DX90.

I wonder if it has something to do with updating. I used the RKbatchtool last time which formats the unit before updating. No issues.

I posted this in the main thread but I'll post it here. Does your Ibasso DX90s prompt you to either scan your library or browse folders when you first turn it on after you've already done a proper media scan?

Always! And it doesn't actually do anything if I added tracks. For instance, I recently added a couple albums, and the DX90 auto-scanned after I ejected it from my Mac - but the new albums weren't added to the library. I find I just have to bite the bullet and perform a fresh scan after I add albums, which takes a looong time with a big, full card!

Oh, yeah I always perform a factory reset after upgrading, am on the latest firmware, and have tried factory reset in between firmware upgrades. Nothing helps...

If you have a card already inserted and you turn it on it goes to the play screen automatically?

Yes on all my 7 cards

I always used the RKbatchtool when I update as well. I believe my microSD cards are legitimate as they were purchased directly from Amazon and not Fulfilled-By-Amazon or a third party dealer. What brand of microSD card are you using?

I don't use RKbatchtool now, since updating to FW that allow for use without it. I have 19 cards and they all work. About 4 different manufactures.

Did you try deleting the audio folder on every storage media?

I experience the exact same issue when I disconnect from a PC.  It makes me wonder what it is even doing when it does it's first auto scan.

When I add an album I just play it one time through the browser directory and doing this is added to the library, I not do a scan, only after a firmware update or when to many albums are added.

Edit : I just play one song

Nope. I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tip!

Huh? Never heard of that, and honestly I never would've thought of that. Doesn't even seem like it should work. Will give that a try, as well. If it works as described, it should be more widely known!
