Finally got the time to test this.

Fully charged last night as at 2200 local time. Wake up this morning close to 0800, only 93% left. Both card slot occupied and no headphone plugged in.

Only times I turned the dx80 on was right after I charged it last night, and this morning to check battery level. Both times saw the "see you" screen.

Seems to be worse with the latest few.

As for me, I fully charged it to 100% and disconnect my charger and left it for 12hrs in fully shutdown state. When I turned on it showed ~86%! I also noticed my playback time has shorten considerably.

Very strange – I'm not seeing any of these battery drainage issues with my DX 80. I mean, a lithium ion rechargeable battery will normally lose some of its charge over time, even if it is not being used.
Is it possible this could be some kind of hardware issue on some units? Again, I'm only asking because I'm not seeing anything like this here.

I didn't notice this problem before fw 1.3.3. This may be just that I didn't pay much attention about that at the time. But I definitely feel it's worse with the latest fw

I am also experiencing the battery power lost problem. Fully charged overnight to 100% and unit turned off after that with no earphones attached. After 12 hours I see the battery level dropped to 89% when I turned on unit again.

Can just be the internal readings. Try to calibrate the battery: let it go to zero (shutdown by itself), let it rest for half an hour and then charge it to 100, while off. I charged mine to 100 yesterday, and turn it on after a few hours, still at 100.

I don't really see how that would help.  If the battery is incorrectly calibrated surely the percent battery would be wrong but the reported percent would not decline while the unit was powered off and (supposedly) not consuming battery?  Why would it read one number and then a different number later, if the battery state had not changed (because the unit was powered off the whole time)?
 
FWIW I don't get any battery drain while the unit is off, from any of the firmwares.

I only noticed this battery draining issue recent. Fully charged the battery, turn off. 48hours latter fropped to 87%.

I'm counting that I only has ± 8 hours playing (vol max at 50, low gain, screen mostly off) using fw 1.3.3 L4.
I notice that battery quickly drain from 100% to 95% or 87% but for second use ( if I shut it down at 50% battery for example ) I didn't see it draining

Just got my DX80 yesterday.  I am using it with a pair of Westone 3 IEMs.  I am noticing a decent amount of hiss.  An easy way to detect it is to turn the volume all the way down and play music.  You can hear the hiss start and stop along with the music as you play and pause.  They've obviously designed it so that signal output is completely cut when the music is paused.  
 
I upgraded to the latest 1.4.2 firmware hoping that it would solve the issue, but the hiss is still the same.  I will have to try this with some other IEMs and headphones.  Overall I think the sound is very good, but unfortunately the hiss may be a deal breaker for me.  I find it a bit unacceptable that my iPhone 6s Plus would have a quieter background than a $360 dedicated DAP.
