Just a heads up everyone, for those of us cursed with Windows 8, don't add .png to the end of the file name.  The file already assumes that part at the end of the actual file name.  You probably already knew that but just in case anybody else struggled like I did.  (I had a laptop that worked for for the past 9 years that just died.  I was using XP for that entire time then woke up in this windows 8 hell)

I think that only applies if you set windows 8 to not show the file extensions (i.e. exe, jpg etc.) if they are already known by default on the system.

try this out guys, i use GIMP app for mac for rescaling each pic and exporting it to png formats.
