iBasso DX300 Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core 6GB RAM ******NEW Firmware 2.00 Android 11******

the DX300 came out the beginning of 2021 and yet its already not being produced. Thats not a long time so I fully expect Android 11 to come soon
for an item that in less than 2 years was discontinued. I want to be able to use Android Auto in the car so i can keep my eyes on the road which is a little important.
The current Android on the DX300 cannot run Android Auto but the Hiby Daps can.

If Ibasso is going to discontinue items this quickly I will have to reconsider buying their products.
Is the CS chip that is in the DX300 back being produced?
Maybe try and search for that chip on CS site (or simply Google). I would say that the circumstances that caused iBasso to "call an audible" so quickly aren't the norm. While I hate that the DX300 got discontinued, I applaud what they did to keep the DX3XX line intact.

And from all that I am reading, Android Auto is compatible with all versions from 6 -11. Beginning with 12 it is no longer supported. I don't know a ton about it, so I am relying on the internet facts (and we all know these have to be right, right?). Here is but one of the links that helped me glean this information: https://www.lifewire.com/android-auto-4163527.

My point is that I don't think it is the version of the OS that keeps it from running on the DX300. iBasso takes things they deem unnecessary out and puts in things that might be needed (again it is an open-source OS). For example, Viper4android doesn't run on the DX300 even if you root it (which would be absolutely fantastic if it did BTW).

The DX240 just got Android 11 update last week. Paul has said a few times that they're working on bringing Android 11 to both the 240 and 300. I'd expect that we'll see the 300 update in the next month or two now.
And that one isn't even a year old (just now getting it). :)

Android changes constantly. I wouldn't expect any company that isn't the size of Samsung or with the OS of Apple, to keep up with all the changes. Nor are they needed. Many of the new Android changes are security for phones etc.

Agree ^^^^

Also most apps that are considered NOT compatible with earlier versions of android are only not compatible because of a header file in the app itself that lists what versions it can be used with. I have edited this in the past to change the header, and they work just fine with even really old versions. Just something to think about. The core of android has not changed for a long time.

There HAVE been some things added that could break some apps (like SD card security, which google has used once, then stopped, and is now back using it again). But for the most part it is the same(ish). Just my $.02.

This x100!!

Sometimes people forget what space they're in. DAPs are hella new, and the companies in this market are nowhere near the size of the smartphone companies.

Hi guys.
I have an ibasso dx300 with amp11mk1 and amp12 exn.

Im interested in the new Amp14 but got a few doubts. I owned an ibasso dx220 with the amp 9, I liked its organic character but on a technical level it lacked resolution at the top end and when using Wi-Fi it made a lot of noise.
From what I read, this new version has a more open and detailed signature and they have managed to reduce noise.
Could anyone compare them to amp12 (or 12exn), amp9 or amp11mk1 to have some references?

My current cans are the Fostex 909 and Meze 109, but Im planning to get a Final D8000 soon.

Thanks in advance!

I don't own the 11.1 or the Amp14 (yet), but do have the 11.2, 12, and 13. And from what I have read on this thread (when 11.1 first came out) the 11.1 is the least resolving of all the amp cards. My point is that if it is less resolving than the Amp13 card is, then you should be good, because I have also read that the Amp14 card falls somewhere between the Amp13 and Amp11.2 card as far as that goes....

Bottom line is that it might look like this (with the exception of those outliers that hear things totally differenly):
Amp12>Amp11.2>Amp14>Amp13>Amp11.1

Though I could be totally wrong about this. As for my equipment that I actually have it would definitely be:
Amp12>Amp11.2>Amp13
Happy New Year to you all and Happy listening to music
To you as well!

You are most welcome! :)

Amp12 is a true beast (IMHO)... I love it for a lot of my head gear, but I have found synergies for all of my stuff with all three cards to this point. It will be fun finding some other "best" synergies with the new Amp14 card IMO...

The firmware download page for DX300/320 on ibasso.com....is not showing any downloads???....maybe a new firmware being prepped?
