The Dx300 in it native is very tube like and without tubes!!! That is the craziest thing about the Dx300. The only DAP I have heard to exhibit this phenomenon without tubes.

I love my Dx312EX by a lot and lot, because this hybrid signatures between the liquidity, the connections, engagement of musical notes in the performances, but does not lack any details and fidelity. It is just purely amazing. I did a lot of tweaking and honestly, I never expected it to be this good….but it surprised me. If anyone has ever listened to a good 2A3 tubes systems, they know how amazingly engaging it is with vocal. It is like the singer is singing right in front of you, in the acoustic room, just you, the bands, and the singer. Yes, the Dx312 can achieve that with EX. It will melt your heart, if vocal and 2A3 signatures is what you love.

The W mod on Amp12 aimed toward elevating Ibasso house sound, so it has more micro dynamics, extensions, separations and staging overall. Both are amazing, period…or should I say, Ibasso is amazing and the Dx300 is amazing
I would like to get a good 2A3 amp. I have two old NOS, test excellent RCA black plate. I have 4 NOS but years ago traded 1 pair, which I wish I hadn't but at least I have one pair.

John, you should build Elekit TA-8900 amp kit. I am using RCA Black bottle from KenRad, and it is Amazing. I also modified input to balanced transformers input to take in balanced sources. All transformers are Lundahl.

The output of the kit is single ended so why change the input to balanced? You feel a source being balanced adds to dynamics etc.? I looked at the kit briefly but don't remember too much. I would like to have a 300B and 2A3 combo. I would want to use the new AudioNote tantalum resistors anywhere around the signal.

The amp can auto bias and switch between 300B to 2A3. Yes, there are more dynamic, staging, fidelity with balanced input sources. I actually love the ideas of SE amplifications with True balanced input system.

So did you do a pseudo input for the balanced? I did that on a pair of 6 pak amps years ago from Cary Audio. Where did you get your 8900? The Lundahl is an upgrade over stock transformers? I also noticed an 8600.

I did a balanced transformers input (a pair). So, technically it is a true balanced input. I got my kit from TubesDepot and Lundahl is optional upgrades. If you want upgrade, you should check out VKAudio as they are the main dealer for this kit in NA, and he shipped quickly. The 8600 is only 300B and has no ability to switch between 300-2A3. I ordered upgraded transformers from VKAudio as Tubedepot didn’t have such options

I haven't seen the schematic. You added input transformers? Is there a schematic?

AK is too overpriced with Roon for what they can do in terms of sound. My opinion. And the processing quality is not everything. Think Fiio, Shanling or iBassso is at the same level. But a lot more cheap.
Heheh! Not quite the new Shanling M9 though at US$2799.

Hi, not sure if I missed something, how can I know the current playlist order if I'm in shuffle mode? Kinda annoying when I cannot know whats playing next. I pressed the 3 dots on album but thats in playlist normal order and not in shuffle. Can anybody share any DX300 tutorial video or make one? I think I dont know a lot of stuffs, tried exploring the UI myself but havent been successful.

Update with AMP12W, after almost 200 hours of burn in, with my favorite tracks, noticeably wider soundstage and VERY snappy/fast transients. The transition from note to note is smooth yet so efficient and fast.

There maybe improved layering and detail but the biggest noticeable change is how fast everything sounds and the dynamics boost.

I wonder what 500 hours will yield......

BTW, I had an informal talk with local seller today and heard some good news: according to him, Korg-based AMP13 with balanced output is about to come next year. Fingers crossed :)
