You may find that one to be the best for you even after testing. I had not really considered them in the past because I LIKE clarity in my IEMs. I'm not a super fan of warm unless they can still offer that clarity while being warm (like the P1 do for me).So far, I feel like the stock filter has been the best fit for me. But I really gotta play with them more, test each for a few days. Might do just that when the DX312EX arrives this Friday. Hype.
Side note, have you guys tried any EQ profiles? Say something that you'd use one Wavelet for example. I may play with the Parametric EQ on this dap.
IIRC even if you root your DX300 you won't be able to use Wavelet, but the good news is that Neutron works with those auto-EQ profiles. It will even go out and find the database, and all you need do is choose your head gear (just like Wavelet). And, yes I use them for my Sennheiser HD700, and my Hifiman TWS600. Otherwise, I use EQ only when needed. For instance the Rose Technics Maria II earbuds. They are a dual DD earbud, and sound amazing if you EQ down the pinna gain region by a whopping -7dB or so.
I do also use it on the 7Hz Timeless. They have a bump in mid-bass, and the mids are a bit too recessed to me. Also, the treble needed a bit more linearity for my ears. Neutron player REALLY does have the absolute best DSP in the business, if you can get past the dated UI (which I quite like actually).
Exactly the same for me: local = Neutron, and streaming = Amazon HD (I think it's just called Amazon Music now though). I also tried Tidal for a while and found the AI recs to be lacking. Qobuz, I find the same; pretty limited for what I like.Ive tried EQ in Mango but just for fun. For local files im using Neutron which extracts the best out of the dx300 (no EQ). For streaming im using Amazon HD as i find it on a very similar level to the Tidal Masters. Have had also Qobuz but it has limited library for the music i like.
