Launching in mainland China on Jan 5th. I am still confirming the oversea launching time with their sales rep.
Once it is launched in mainland China, I believe you should be able to see it in Hifigo and Aliexpress, although you may need to double confirm how the warranty works when purchased from those channels.
After a bad experience with a DX160 and an abroad well known dealer, I will stick to a local one. There are none in Canada but a few well known in the US: https://ibasso.com/where-to-buy/
With electronics that is, I mind less with anything else but if you need to claim warranty and all, it's easier to keep the shipping and repairs local.

Could someone describe dx160 tuning in relation to dx220 please.
Thing is, i am sure there is nothing to worry about how technically capable will be dx300. What i am a bit buzzing about- will it not be the right tuning for me?
Though what is really intereresting, that is translation is true, the amp modules shouls change tonality? Or am i understanding it wrong?

Yeah, the change in tonality with changing the AMP module is directly stated in their info posts. Though, iBasso has not given any further information about what the modules would be, other than there will be a module with Op Amps and a module with transistors. The DX300 should certainly sound differently with these two modules (clear/analytical vs. warm).
I wonder how close is the sound of R8 toward the ibasso sound signature? Is Ibasso more reference and less meatier and less warmth vs the R8?
To me R8 seems slightly more neutral natural sounding less musical from what Id like it to be and slightly treble elevated to my taste. How would the ibasso be? even lets say the max of th 228?
I am using EQ to fix the R8 sound slightly, something that I never do and seriously against
I like the clock frequencies of 22.5792M and 24.576M but what are they?? Ppm?? Ultra low noise phase?? I would also like to know both the actual LDO and FPGA Chip they are « advertising » here sans description. It’s pretty vague.

But what difference is it going to make if they use Xilinx (soon to be acquired by AMD) or Altera (already acquired by Intel) or any other FPGA brand? It is just the idea of them implementing FPGA to off-load SoC. FPGA is just a programmable digital logic blank chip you have to code with a specific functionality, and we don't even know if it is done in house or outsourced per iBasso spec. Those are not off the shelf chips with built-in audio processing functionality.
Also, per some questions about DX160 vs DX220. I don't think DX160 sound and performance will paint the whole picture of DX300. The tonality will be colored by its amp module, and other technical aspects will attribute to the architecture of the design and how those 4 DACs are partitioned, powered, isolated, laid out on the board, etc.
Furthermore, since dimensions are revealed and it appears at 163mm DX300 is going to be the tallest DAP out there (MAX is 145mm), now it makes absolute sense to combine power button with a volume wheel so you don't have to move your thumb between separate button at the top to turn on the display and the wheel to adjust the volume. Should make it more convenient to have it in one place right above play/pause/skip buttons.
