I totally agree the Mango OS does seem to have better clarity than the Android OS
That to my opinions, firmware/OS and it power management will still effect the sound performances. How and why ? I don’t know LOL!!! Anyways, MangoOS is worth every penny. Beside Ibasso and Sony, I don’t know of any other DAP makers to really make their own dedicated OS just for music alone and not Android based

I bet Odin must be an excelent pairing with dx300.
Odin should make dx300 upper mids lively and engaging. The only thing i miss on dx300 really.
That’s interesting, because I’m finding the upper mids and lower treble a bit too spikey so far and I was putting it down to lack of burn in. Compared to my R8, that is.

Can you write some sonic impressions after some burn in R8 vs DX300?
I think there are some people here interested in that impression, I know at least one 😉
How comes you wanted DX300 on top of R8?

Hit 300 hours. Damn, last night I didn't want to stop listening, I mean really as I "knew" it wouldn't' sound this good, this way in the morning. I was wrong! The openers, hugeness, soundstage, bass, slight warmness of naturalness but not lacking in detail. Good on rock or classical. Good Stuff.

Listening to The Waterboys/Dream Harder right now, and they can at times be hard on a system but the DX300 handles it and all the nuances and guitar playing comes through without issue.

Dx300 Amp 11?

For me the DX300 amp module looks a bit like Amp8, and has a few similarities to amp8EX and Max sound wise.

maybe maestro @Whitigir can weigh in here
It is based on Amp8 with improvements, tuned specifically for this stock sound signatures, and the improvements is even more than Max in the power distributions and output.

Amp11 is an improvement over Amp8/Amp8EX/AMPMAX

Ah okay. Guess I mean the potential of what a pure 4.4mm amp module can do (with no other plug options). We can only go up from here!

On another note, I can make a discernable between the different digital filters now. With the DX200, they all sounded the same to me.

I use the ddHiFi carrying case. It isn't a hard case like yours. Zippered tough nylon case.

Yes, it is the nature of CL being the DaC Chips. Their digital filters are very noticeable, even on Dx160
