Interesting. The Download section on ibasso's website does not allow me to download the new firmware.
The link that appeared on Head-Fi by Paul to the Fimware upgrade has also disappeared. How can I get the firmware now please anyone?

Macbook

Chrome did not work

downloaded the file with safari

(Windows person earlier said use edge).

file is now in computer

unzip downloaded file

in the new file is the update and text file

drag and drop the update file into the micro sd card folder

Local update on max - may have to scan the card (do this update twice)

if the computer does not show your max, on pc or mac try another usb c cable as the ibasso ones can be so so for file transfer

or put the micro sd card into a card reader

To get the max to ahow up on a macbook use android file transfer app.

there is also update over wifi - but paul said we should do another local uodate with this one

remember the downloaded file has to be unzipped

- i want to do it all on my max! - if thats not working using a computer.

Good luck

Mixplorer has a nice Unzip feature if people need a good File Explorer for so.

So I still have my Max so I figured I'd do this double update thing.. ermm, how do I get my Max to do the update if I'm already on the latest version? It doesn't view the downloaded FW update as an "update" since it's the same version as the one I did OTA.

edit: nevermind, click the three buttons on the top right then click local update and select the FW that way, got it.

The double update instead of a factory reset?

Didn't see anything on offer to update when I did the same as you.

Just tried downloading a selection of WinRAR and WinZip packages to see if I can get this update into the Local update area. No luck whatsoever.

I did it through PC, just download the file. Extract it and move the ZIP to the root of your SD card or Internal memory. Go to update and click the buttons on the top right, click local update, go to wherever you put the file (internal memory or sd) and the FW should be there. Click on it and it'll update.

Yep. I did this through a PC as well and didn't find anything to update with. Screen shot below and nothing happens. Then tried that 'compatibility. zip' It's doing something! Probably corrupting everything now! 🤣
