This made me want to look into a hard case for the unit.

I get mixed specs on the interior dimensions, so decided to try it and see how it goes. Should know in 2-3 days.
If it doesn't work out, I'll just return it and check out the bigger sizes, but they are different designs.
I already have a leather case mentioned earlier in this thread, but feel it may not be enough protection unless modify it somehow.
The 3Max fits inside and is then protected. It's not perfect centered, as there is some corner edges,
which actually work to keep unit from sliding, so no undue pressure or resting on the volume knob.
So all in all, it is a nice addition, but to place in another bag.
So now I not have to worry anymore about the screen getting damaged.
As you can see in pics, I am not using the stock leather case.
With the case on, the buttons are to sensitive and get pressed by mistake, and I can't tell when the unit gets warm to touch with case on. So I leave as is, just with a screen protector.
Here is it, side by side with another leather case, which was posted earlier in this thread. Similar size, which means NEITHER case gives enough space for anything extra.
Would be nice if there was more space for charger, or IEMS, but sadly, it's not happening with these cases.
Regardless, now I can throw this in any bag and not worry about anything.
Last thing to take note, is that there is about 1/2 inch space on top of the unit when inside, as the case is thicker. I just put some padding on top.
Been enjoying the Valentinum case for the 300Max the past month~ Some pics to share. Just wish they used full grain leather instead of this shiny "cheap" feeling leather.
@Paul - iBasso any new FW on the horizon to spruce up the GUI? Just had an M9 to play with and the 1st thing that stood out was having lettering for library whilst in it, made going to the right artist / album / track so much easier.
There appears to be very little comment back from ibasso in this thread or the other for potential OS tweaks.....

I fear there will be no reply from ibasso. The DX300Max is EOL for Ibasso. It was more a proof of concept, than a product to make money with. Its unimportant for Ibasso now. Sad but true.

Be that as it may about the Max edition, Mango OS and its GUI is the same system used in the DX300 regular (which is far from EOL, even if at some point in the future it comes out with new DAC chips) and the new DX240 and it's an OS that has a long story with several of the iBasso DX series DAPs. Would make little sense if iBasso were to stop supporting it, unless they've got plans to replace it (which I, for one, am unaware of).

Hi Paul, I found the 300max battery of dac drain very fast (I have opened the 8 channels) for streaming. I think it can last for only 3 hours, is it normal or can be fixed by firmware update?

3hrs is poor. Have you cycled the battery charging? I did both digital and analogue a few times from 20-80%, 20-100%. I was listening to tidal this afternoon for around 3 hrs and only dropped around 30%, 8 ch, DAC at 90.
There's a whole raft of requests in the bug thread worth looking into.
This one is having the music folder displaying the alphabet down one side so easier / more convient to get ti the artist or album or song you're looking for rather than spinning the wheel and hope you land close.
