For BT only usage? Use your smartphone. As it was mentioned already, decoding and D/A conversion is done in your wireless headphones anyway. The choice of DAP has no effect on analog performance of your wireless headphones.

I have P7 Wireless as well. The sound is nearly the same paired up with either DX160 or Galaxy S9. The only difference, I get about 20-25ft of listening distance away from DX160, and about 40-45ft with S9.

The DX160 is advertised as having Bluetooth. It should work properly. It does not. Something interferes with the signal. Also for those that have the S9 phone (me too) there is no APTX-HD which is what the bulk of better resolution HD receivers are if you use HiFi. On the the DX160 Bluetooth is advertised but it is unstable and should work properly. I think morally and legally if it's advertised it should work properly.

I should have one today and the first thing I will do is check the bluetooth performance, to shed more light or perhaps more confusion in this matter! :)

However as usual I will mainly use it as a receiver to get the benefit of the built in DAC.

Hey guys

I solved Wi-Fi noise problem with iFi iEMatch.

With this simple cable, all noise has gone completely.

Yeah i think to use this IEMatch before, but it's not cheap (atleast for me). I just hope ibasso can find the problem and fix it.
I have an idea about this noise. Maybe if ibasso give a very low gain setting can solve this problem. I have similar noise when i use my LG V20 with it's quad dac. When i force always high impedance, i can hear those noise. But when i try to lower it's db on quad dac, it can lower the noise. If I'm not force always high impedance, there is no noise at all. Maybe, just maybe, if there is lower gain setting in dx160, can solve this problem. Maybe @Paul - iBasso can consider this.

Ultra low gain, or a built in impedance adjustment option like IEMatch are both solutions, but both costly, and can’t be added in software as far as I know. So the DX160 is what it is, which - given its high output power, especially in balanced mode - means using it with ultra sensitive IEMs is not a good idea. Add to that the fact that all this power is crammed into a device the size of a deck of cards, and you’re inevitably going to hear hiss or RF interference or processing noise with *some* IEMs some of the time. As above, a $50 IEMatch is a quick and easy solution. As is switching to single ended. As is making sure you keep the dap away from your phone and Wi-Fi router. The DX160 is not the first dap with these so-called ‘issues’ and it won’t be the last.

You want enough power to drive HD800s and also use Andromedas hiss-free? Not really possible without some compromises or add-ons I’m afraid.

Got my unit 2 days ago. First impressions are that I'm quite happy with it :)

It is interesting that I did not notice bluetooth interruption when listening with bt headhones, even when I tried shaking my unit well and jump in distance with headphones on... :)

I like a lot exceptional quality screen, interface is good enough and did not notice any significant lag when operating system. Smooth enough.

Sound is good enough for my taste, as I listen most of all rock, metal, alternative, trance, hip-hop... Checked out all 4 digital filters and found that "short delay fast roll off" matches best for music genres that I listen for most of time... the sound is not super engaging, immersive or dynamic that makes your head shake, but it is still detailed, entertaining and hangs me up for a while...better than my phone for sure in both 3.5 and bt options.

For disadvantages i could mention poor baterry life. With wifi and screen on surfing the web while listening music it holds 2 hours.

Mangoo player is very nice.

I just loaded Lurker's firmware. Very smooth, easy process. The only reason I gave it a try was to be able to download USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP) from the Play store.

UAPP seems to be working pretty smoothly. Two observations that I have already submitted to the UAPP developers:

1.) Whenever I pause a track or skip to the next track, there is an audio hiccup. It is as though it pauses for a millisecond and then there is a millisecond of playback (just sounds like a scratch) and then it pauses or skips to the next track. It is not a pleasant sound. This is not an issue is not happening in the stock Mango player or Hiby Music player.

2.) On my Google Pixel 2 I am able to slide my finger up and down the right side of the screen and the bar cycles through the letters alphabetically making it very easy to navigate a big list. I have included a screenshot from my Pixel below. This functionality does not seem to be working on the iBasso DX160 version. Was this an oversight or is this a limitation of the version of Android on the DX160?
