DX160 is better is almost all aspects
Many yes to this. Sound quality wise I think even SR25 is not on par (though that might also partly be due to my preference for Ibasso tuning).

I was almost ready to order the A&K SR15 given its current low price, but the DX160 looks so good I'm starting to reconsider. Decisions, decisions!

Does anyone here knows if the turning wheel on the side of DX160 is the only way to turn the volume up and down there?

Yes as far as hardware buttons that is the only way.

Thanks so much dude...
Been trying since this morning using the audio settings on the menu to find if the two buttons on the right side ( < > ) can be used as volume controls beside forward and backward tracks.... But I suppose this is not an option right??

Yes, that is not an option. The only hardware present for volume control is the wheel.

How does the DX160 (ver.2020) compare to the Astell&Kern SR15, in terms of sound quality, build and all-round functionality? Both are the same price at the moment (39980 Japanese yen, which is about $385 US). I've just bought the A&K Billie Jean IEMs, and listen to all genres of music (mostly rock).

Just found the DX160 with a 20% discount in the winter sale. Now down to $305, so decision made and order placed! Will post impressions after doing some serious listening.

Seeing as this is the only review I've read that really doesn't seem to like the DX160, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Most other reviews I've read love the iBasso sound.

Looks like What Hi-Fi? have something of a love affair with Astell&Kern players (7 of their top 12 players of 2020 are by A&K).

I will just say that they have lost sight of their work philosophy somewhere along the road.

Back in the 90s I always read their magazine reviews when I was buying hi-fi separates. Helped me out a lot before the days of internet!
Exactly!! me and most of us enthusiasts did too

Guys...
Did any of you has experienced any issues associated with the battery life on DX160??
I started using DX160 for about 3 days now, and today morning I listened for about an hour in balanced out 4.4 using AM05 & IT04 ibasso iems. During this hour long listening session the battery percentage went down from 45% to 20%
That's a 25% percentage decrease there!!
Is this normal??
I use mostly flac files in my collection and during that hour wasn't using any other app on DX160...
Just using Mango player playing directly from my 64gb micro SD card.
After that I left DX160 playing alone for another hour, (no iems/earphones connected there) with screen off.
Checked it after an hour and battery percentage was decreased only by 10%
(from 20% to 10%) which seems quite normal to my opinion....
Is there anything I am missing here????
Maybe the activation of the "data saver" option on DX160 settings can help this battery consumption??
Another thing noticed there was a little heat at the back of DX160s surface.. (after two hours added playing time)
Any opinion would be of great help
Thanks for reading........
P. S. I got the 2020 updated version of DX160.

@alexandros a I think the "brightness" setting helps a bit, mine is at 52%. Some people prefer to turn the screen off whenever not really needed, but I rather just load the battery a bit more.
