Hello,

I just sold wm1a. I owned a Fiio M11 before it. Now I decide between the dx160 and the LG V40.
What do you recommend? What matters most to me is the sound quality and power of the amplifier.

I have been using an LG V20 fot quite awhile now, it has been a good all in one companion but in terms of sound and power, the DX160 is superior. Caveat for getting an LG is that, you need to have gears that are 50ohms or more in order for you to fully utilize its amp power.

I have 2 LG phones and I can tell you, the DX160 leaves them in the dust first being the sound width and depth and 2nd being the amount of power output.

LG max output is 2V, Dx160 via Balanced is 6.4V. Even the DX160 SE output has more power (3V+) vs LG.

This is really crazy, 6 weeks ago I bought one in Vienna. You were fats on every corner .... within 2 weeks the EU was sold out far. Price - performance is really great

one thing is web saying it has it and second is fully funcional adaptation. on fioo website is saying MQA only working in Fiio Music app

I am enjoying it too. Went for the advanced ROM ($99) to flash as I just love my 160. I find the same as what you said, I seem to hear more transparency within vocals too. More effortless details if you will.

I can say that the DX160 does indeed have full MQA support. I have read that Tidal upsamples, so it is hard to tell by just using Tidal, but I also use UAPP and use Tidal through it, and can say that it does indeed unfold MQA fully. With the UAPP app you DO have to pay (an in-app purchase) to unlock full unfolding of MQA.
