like 245 MWatts

How much power does the Dx100 put out? I mentioned somewhere that the iBasso Pb2 puts out 2500 mW. The Rx3 is only about 25% of that. I would imagine that the Dx100 is even less.
Anakchan. Are you comparing the Dx to the Rx whilst using the Dx in balanced mode?

Not too sure what you mean since the DX100 has no balanced output. Did you mean did I try the Rx in balanced mode? If so, then no...single ended.

May take on the power difference between the DX100 and the PB2 is 2x for the PB2 compared to the DX100.  It has approximately twice the peak voltage swing as the DX100.   This is based on the iBasso web site.  The PB2 2500 mW is simply stated as being a max power capacity without any impedance tnoted.  The DX100 power is noted with gain and impedance listings.   My evaluation is based on the peak voltage swing possible based on doubling the DC voltage in for the DX100 having 8.5 volts in comparing this with the PB2s 16volts in.  Somewhere back in the this thread is noted that iBasso said the Dx100 max power was over 1 watt or 1000 mW.  This would be compared to the PB2s 2500 mW.

Good to hear that the Rx3 was only operated in single ended mode. The reason I say this is that my experience with the Pb2 was that the soundstage expanded significantly when changing to balanced mode. There is still hope for the Rx3 to hold its own versus what appears to be the current best in mobile rigs- the Dx100.

If the Rx3 expands the soundstage over the DX100 it is better than my SR-71B and hopefully less dark.  These are two things that I am watching for in the Rx3 impressions.  My DX100 does everything for me that the SR-71B balanced with other amps, including using the DX100 line out as an input to the SR-71B both single ended or balanced outputs.  I have also put the DB2 into the line up with the DX100 optical out and it does nothing more than the simple DX100 phone out for me both singled ended or balanced into my phones.

BTW, I call the DX100 slightly dark and with the SR-71B very dark.  With the SR-71B, to dark for me for some perspective.

Wow the bass is deep! Have my EQ set to pound the bass. Here is my EQ setting on the DX100 (from left to right): +7,+6,+3,+2,+1,+1,+2,+4. Med gain volume at 221. Whitesnake - Still Of The Night Flac!

Is there +7? I have +6 max.

Has anyone compared this against an iMod + D10 setup? (that's what I have now :p) Or maybe the iRiver H120 - optical - D10?

It is better in all areas than the D10 and H120.

I would NOT play the DX100 in any case at all. I have been walking in the heat in Hong Kong and it gets hot in my hnads. Today I had it in my sport pants and I thought I had a oven in my pocket!

one more thing is one it gets too hot it makes a lot of cracking noise, espically if you siwthc the gain to mid.

Hopefully ,y unit is not faulity
