Yeah I like Power Amp better than both the Stock Player in the old firmware and in this updated firmware. Although the Stock Player still does sound good and will be useful for 24/96 and maybe certain songs (not sure about the latter lol). ...>
Are you sure about that? I heard it down-samples it? Unless ibasso pulled off some magic? If it does indeed down-sample I'm curious if there will ever be a fix for that. From what I've heard it's android that is limiting Power Amp...

Yes, you're correct I think. Poweramp reports the flac files as playing 24/96. But from what I can find out about Android 2.3 it looks like 48Khz is the max rate.
However I could be, and almost certainly am, wrong about some part of that.

This exchange on another board made me laugh:
I'm curious would there be anyway we could get Power Amp to bypass this limitation? I mean if ibasso can do it and their hardware supports it I would hope Power Amp could do the same.
I'm curious on hearing everyone's impressions regarding Power Amp compared to the Stock player (on the updated firmware). Thanks
Hi guys, have you ever had the volume increase on its own with v.1.10? This just happened to me on the train. I'm pretty sure I didn't sit on the button or anything like that.

It maxed out on its own.
Ow that sounds painful. Did you do the "defensive ear-death technique?" .
The only time I've actually had the volume shoot up on me was when the screen was on and I accidentally hit the volume control on the screen and "POW" lol. I still see it as a non-issue to be able to adjust the volume from the physical buttons while the screen remains off.
Yes, I agree this is the most likely explanation. You're going to have to make it up somehow ... maybe flowers? I wouldn't go with chocolates though. Perhaps a nice inlaid lacquered box in which the DX can snooze at night?
Could someone who uses Mog clarify if it works well on this device?
I know it's compatible w/ 2.3, but I worry about bugginess/execution on older versions of Android, and I see there's plenty of issues with the specialized build of the firmware/etc.
I'm pretty much strictly a Mog user at this point (its high bitrate native client is acceptable enough for me, even comparing against same hi-res recordings sourced from HDTracks) so this is the killer feature for me. I really don't want to get into a discussion on lossy vs. hi-rez, I've done enough of my own listening over the past year to come to my own conclusions on it.
If the execution is too laggy/subobtimal, I might wait for a future version of this player and make due with a FiiO E17 connected to my MBA, which isn't _that_ much of a reduction in quality from my $4k desktop setup (AP2 -> Metrum Octave -> Maxxed WA6SE), at least with my Editions 8s. But it would be great to get back to something closer in that ballpark and not have to stress the battery of my MBA (ie, I can be away from wall power for at least 5+ hours).
OK...this is annoying. Other than sounding godd the most important feature to me is that it shuffles across the 6000 tracks I have on it. This worked fine on the original firmware as soon as I realized that selecting a song through "directory" would shuffle through everything, "album" through that album, and so on. With the new firmware it all of a sudden fell out full directory shuffle and nothing I do will return it to seeing all 6000 tracks. It keeps wanting to shuffle an unknown group of songs that seem to be ones I just listened to. Any thoughts/help appreciated.....

When you're in the area of the music player where the top tabs listed say "all music, directory, playlists, albums", just long press any of the tabs and you can choose to play all.
