I have been anxious for a portable dac with even more capabilities than the DB-1.

Here are some of the features:

1, Dual WM8740 +CS8416 +TAS1020B
2, 110dB SN and 101dB Crosstalk
3, Separated battery power supplies for the Analog section and Digital section.
4, Balanced line out and 3.5mm line out
5, It will take USB input (up to 24/96) and optical and coaxial inputs (up to 24/192)
6, Low pass filter rollable.
7, 20 hours play time.
8, And it is the same size and same case finish as the PB2.

The selling price is $299.

The total sales price of the first 10 will be contributed to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief . That is the total sales price not a percentage or $2990.00.

They will be taking preorders with shipping around the 6 to 10th of April.

I like the idea of the low pass filter being rollable. Again, a person is able to modify to a degree, the sound if it is desired.

I have been using the DB-1 Boomslang with the 71B and they sound great together. The DB-2 should be a step up from the DB-1 with dual dacs and further refinement and with the dual power supply I think we should be hearing some very good things.

i love ibasso but their awesome products are really in betweeners for me.  i wish i had extra cash, id pick this up in a second not only because its amazing what they do with their products but because theyre so generous.  id like to see any other companies on here donate the full price on 10 products to CHARITY... rather than this site.  hmm... was that good enough to get my post deleted?

Kudos to what's iBasso is doing! :) as with debitsohn, I'd grab this in a second if I had the extra cash to spare.

I'm pre-ordered, 3rd on the list. Hats off to iBasso for donating to the Japanese disaster victims. I'm currently using my D10 as an alternative DAC through coax from my Oppo BDP-95 that has the Saber32 Reference ES9018 DAC chip. The D10 sounds very good, I was amazed. The DB2 should sound better than the D10 as a stand-alone DAC with dual Wolfson WM8740, separate power supply for the analog and digital and rollable low pass filter.

Well it looks like they will start shipping tomorrow. I think this should be a pretty special dac.

For those that have DB1 and will receive DB2 shortly, please do comparison.  Thanks.

The run time of the DB-2 will be shorter, around 13.5 hours. That doesn't bother me as the level of sound should be excellent and to get a balanced dac with dual Wolfson 8740's in a small package takes a lot and can suck up the current. This dac will go clear to 24/192 but at that point it will take much more current and will be best used with the charger or USB connection to keep it charged but most material that is that high of a bit rate and sampling is on a computer or other stationary source anyway.

Jam, I have the DB1 and I am waiting for someone to receive their DB2 for some comparison with the DB1.  I like to know if the difference between the two are readily noticeable or is it something that require extreme critical listening to discern.  I like some input before i order the DB2.  Please be objective.  Thanks.
