IBasso Audio IT03

I am thinking it03 is already a bright iem. Won't adding a silver plated CB13 add to the treble?

CB13 is a 8 conductor hybrid, 4 pure copper and 4 pure silver wires, different from silver plated.

I see. I have made plenty of custom cable, but have only use pure copper, pure silver, or silver plated and even cheap tinned plated, but never hybrid although I am intrigued.
How does hybrid wire sound? In between Silver and Copper?

nevermind, I read twister's review of the cable.

Paul, how is the 8 core cable wired? since there are 4 cores per channel (2 silver and 2 copper), is the cable soldered with 2 silver and 2 copper separately to ground and -ve or is it 1 copper 1 silver each to both ground and -ve?

How long have you had the it03? I have lil to no issues with treble now after "burning them in" And I'm quite sensitive to treble.

The treble does seems to go down considerably. Mine should have at least a few hundred hours in. Most of the time I paired it with my Note 5 which has a wolfson which is considered a dark DAC. It may be my brain burning in as well since whenever I wear my other headphones I immediately notice the brighter than average nature of this IEM.

Another thing to keep in mind is the source pair up. IT03 (8 ohm impedance) doesn't pair up well with higher output impedance sources. I know, majority of DAPs are below 1 ohm, but I'm testing M2s now with 4.8 ohm output impedance, and while it attenuates IT03 sub-bass and some mid-bass (which for some could be a plus), it also boosts lower treble, making it sound harsher. I think some of the old A&K daps had higher output impedance as well. So, just be aware of your source, either DAP or DAC/amp.

Can you confirm @Paul - iBasso

The newer cb13 can now fit all mmcx iems?

Is this also the case with cb12 or no?
The CB13 has less sleeve so it should fit most any MMCX IEM. The CB12 has not been changed at this time but is very easy to trim if you are careful.

OK, on May 8, Paul said IT-04 would be:

A couple of months. That is the closest I can come to release right now.

and, two months later, on July 3, he said:

The IT04 are final. Production will start soon.

I'm officially ready now :)

@Paul - iBasso ?!?!?

The IT04 design is ready but we won't release it until the shells are exactly right. That is the only holdup.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words :)

On the right is the new CB13 cable, clearing an extra mm of connector trim to make sure all the mmcx shells are compatible. Nothing needs to be modified, this one works 100% out of the box!
