The small one is the selector switch. It is also the DAC volume controller.

The big one is the analog section volume attenuator.

Could anyone here, please, compare the soundstage between iBasso D16 and RME ADI 2 DAC FS ?
I'd like to buy the D16 ( connected with my mobile phone S24 Ultra ) using it with ZMF Caldera Closed
Thank you

Does it have a desktop mode? Or does it always draw off the battery? Any comparisons to the chord quest?

It's battery only
I haven't heard Qtest but isn't it the same DAC as in Hugo2?
If yes you can search in this thread and find hints for your question

I just received the iBasso D16, didn't have much time to test it out
I'll be back at home, later tonight. I just put it to charge
With the 3.5 mm jack, can I use Amp high gain?
Which settings would you recommend? Amp, all the way up, and then adjusting the volume knob?
Thank you

You can use high gain with 3,5mm single ended or 4,4mm balanced output.
I use these gain settings: DAC high, AMP high and I set the digital volume (small knob) to 100.
Then I use the analog volume (big knob) to adjust the volume. From there you can fine adjust the overall volume by going down with the digital volume (small knob) to 94 for example.
The analog volume knob only has 24 steps.
The DAC gain setting should always be set to high and the AMP gain setting depends on your gear's impedance and the chosen output.
3,5mm single ended provides 1125mW or balanced output provides 1125mW x 2.

(By long pressing the small digital volume knob you can enter the settings menu and also navigating through it)

Undecided with one of these or a hugo2. What have people experienced owning or used both?
