After listening to D16 with Denon D9200, for about 10 minute, I have to say :

H O L Y F.....beeepp.. K
I'm speechless. This little beast ( D16 ) it's amazing
I'll try the Dan Clark E3, later.
Love it.
I'll post back, thank you, guys
LE : damn it, I can't test it today with the E3, I don't have any 6.3 mm jack to 3.5

I always by from authorized sellers. It avoids not having a warranty and all the questions about really new or is it used etc. And you normally get help from authorized sellers when needed. That is my experience.

@bluex Yes it is! Everyone who has it is very happy with it! Its really an amazing piece of hardware and can be DEFINITELY called endgame as a source.

@Death_Block It might be. It might be not. I would buy eartips, phone case, usb cable from Ali, but not this.

Just curious if anyone had. I personally am way to sceptical even if it was a real product.

We all seem to experience things a little bit differently. I preferred the D16 as I find it a little more dynamic, transparent and overall better rendering of the music. I find the Hugo a little bit slower, sounding with piano strikes having a better transient speed on the D 16. Opposite of above, I find the resolution a little bit better on the D16. on this why there would be a difference of opinion between some of us I don't know, but it is what I hear and I have a lot of time listening to natural sounds non-amplified sounds and acoustical types of music.
Hugo sounds dryer to me

I have the D7200 (old drivers) and I'm also very happy with this pairing, especially the texture and the control of the low end 😁

I wouldn't do that and only buy from authorized dealers and I don't think anyone has done this yet 😅

Thinking about the iBasso PB5, as well, but not sure if it's great with the ZMF Caldera Closed
I don't have yet the Caldera Closed ( hopefully next week)
Would anyone recommend it, guys?
With Denon D9200 / Dan Clark E3 / ZMF Caldera Closed, what's the advantages with this amp, connected to D16, vs D16 alone?
D16 Taipan has already a lot of power.
Thank you, any advices are welcome.

D16 is powerful enough but PB5 just adds more smoothness and warmth to the sound..also making the sound more 3D holographic.
I do not have the Caldara but it sounds really good on my ZMF Bokeh and Audeze LCD-2.

When you use D16 with PB5, where exactly do you have to plug in the headphones? Into the D16 or PB5 ?
Is the sound quality difference, noticeable ( warmth, more 3D holographic ) ?
Does the PB5 gets hot after a longer period of listening ?!
Thanks a lot for your reply

The PB5 is an amplifier therefore you plug into it. The sound is somewhat more holographic and textured. It does not get hot and makes for an excellent combination.

PB5 has MEASURABLE 3db subbass boost (100hz and under), take it into consideration.

Jamato8 had answered your questions.
You won't be disappointed with PB5, tbh, Cayin C9II is great but I feel PB5 is better. C9II have thicker sound which I feel too much, PB5 is done just right.
