I don't want to influence you on your decision whether to buy the X or not, but I think you should because it's great, sounds flappin brilliant, it's a solid little player, has a lovely screen, it's wonderful to use and you'll treasure it forever.

It makes coffee too.

I will say one thing, Ive owned many MP3 players in my life but never spent more than $200 on one let alone $400. I love my audio (though not quite an audiophile) and use UE super fi5 EBs. $400 on a DAP wow.

Im using a Zune right now (last gen) and main reason im upgrading is cause i hate zune software. I want a player that allows drag and drop for music.

I was down to the Sony X and S:Flo2 but the 10hr battery life on the S:Flo2 is a deal breaker for me.

sony support Linear PCM lossless,
Linear PCM is an uncompressed audio format. It can have up to 8 channels of audio at 48khz or 96khz sampling frequency and 16, 20 or 24 bits per sample. It has a maximum bitrate of a huge 6.144 MB/s. It's also known as LPCM.

they seemed to be very high quality lossless.
any audiophiles has any comments on sony's lossless support?

Unless you can get original master files, I don't know where you can get 48k, 96k / 20 bits, 24 bits.
I am curious, does wave sounds "noticeable better" than AAC/mp3 with Sony X?

Oh, so since im only in it for the Music and nothing more...the X isnt worth 3x the cost?

Lowest X1000 here is $400CDN, thats 32GB. I can get 16GB Sony E series for $130.

If the 16GB X were available in Canada for less Id get that since 16GB is more than enough for me.

Im sure the X is a great player but im just trying to justify the $400 price tag.

But arent the E and S series lesser for sound quality?

SONY CORPORATION NWZE345B 16GB Walkman® Video MP3 Player with 2.0" LCD display – Black : MP3 Players | Dell Canada

Aside from the non touchscreen and OLED and built in noise cancelling and wifi, what makes the X better to warrant 3x the price?
