Any of my devices have a better sound using balanced connection. ( Headphone usage. ) So are you saying power is more important ? ( Thanks for that info. )
The chord stuff is different, balanced exists to fix a problem chord dacs inheritably do not have.
This is important you understand this. Somewhere, the Watts schooled us all in balanced vs single ended

Not Rob, but John:

The primary reason many Dacs have a balanced internal topology is try to overcome switching noise that has been induced into the Dac chips substrate. Balanced circuitry though causes other distortions that should be avoided. Chord Dacs have no substrate switching noise because the switching elements are seperated from the FPGA and more importantly from the analogue circuitry. So because we don't use standard Dac chips that can suffer from these problems. Therefore we do not have no need to used a balanced internal topology so we don't! The balanced analogue outputs are derived externally in analogue form only from single ended ultra low distortion output. I hope that is not too confusing.

I still don't get it insofar as people spending that much money on a Hugo TT2 will very likely have invested a lot in their audio gear, which in turn will also mean balanced cables. So, even if it is not an advantage in terms of SQ, it is making the customer's life easier providing a balanced output.

I agree in principle, but having the XLR to 6.3 adapter cable that comes with the TC for example, or a similar adapter, pretty much takes care of this.

The balance 3 pin on tt are not for hp. They are xlr out to a hp preamp say then you plug your 4 pin balanced hp cable into that.

Yes, of course. But then again, at this price point I'd prefer not having to do this. If you have a (really expensive) adapter like this, you are probably good, but overall additional connections means additional trouble (and/or expenses).

Yes I agree with you.

Come to think of it. There are two 6.3 mm outputs. How often will anyone use two simultaneously? And I also wonder how many people use the 3.5mm output. So, plenty of room for a different connector, probably. But the product is what it is, and I am happy with it. :)

Do you think they even tried the 3.5mm connector when designing. It was awful on the TT and even more useless on the TT2. Thank goodness for adapters or most iem’s would need recabling.

How is it awful exactly?
Most iem cables have right angle jacks. Unless the TT sits on the edge of the shelf how do you insert it. Even then a lot of straight jacks don’t seat properly. ymmv

Ok I see. I’ll fix that by placing an M scaler below the TT2!! I’ll give the cable a little more room to hang down.
Haha... then you’ll need to fix the rfi. That was probably the design intent though. An adapter in the second 1/4” socket provides the function and forces HP mode so no mode cycling on insertion.
