Sound reassuringly expensive - come the end of the world - I hope you get a good barter rate for them.

I think the hugo TT 2 will control them with an iron fist mate.I could be wrong but I think like sennheiser they need a powerful amp to do them justice

They are a relatively easy load. 250 Ohm and 102dB SPL/1mW @500Hz (dt1990 pro) is quite efficient actually. I doubt you’d turn the volume up much at all (power output) with the TT2.

Treble has been reported to be a bit ‘hot’ (7-8kHz) on some tracks so don’t mistake a neutral-plus sound signature of the headphone for lack of power. It’s nice that they provide a different pair of ear pads for a slightly different bass response.

treble might be 'hot' but these are never as shouty as Utopia. and I find the DT1990 to have better separation.

maybe I am crazy.

I didn’t say they were bad, or compare to anything did I?

FYI, I never find the Utopia ‘shouty’.

i feel i can crank up the volume going to the 1990 a lot more without it becoming too much. Utopia doesn't suit me well at high volumes for some reason.

Oh man, I love the Utopia because I don’t need to crank them at all to get great impact and dynamics. Yay for saving my hearing, lol.

I agree that at high volume the Utopia will beat you up with an onslaught of audio.

Good move Paul German engineered headphones are amongst the best in the world. You should research the Beyerdynamic story pre and post war extremely interesting. Last summer 2017 i was using dt880 600 ohm with H2 vey nice results. I'm stuck on my Oppo PM1 now which i hope will become a collectors item soon with the winding down of Oppo digital.

Finally made it to re-rip the Maxwell Embrya CD to FLAC. Having fun ripping the hidden track... Gotta love Google for instructions

I was gonna buy the Dekoni hybrid pads but I'll hang fire for now
