Well I was one of those who didn’t deduce a substantial upgrade from ch 1 to ch2. By substantial I mean a reference server difference, certainly not. I found it quite subtle difference...but I’ll reserve any judgements on tt2, tho.

Just curious, is the hugo tt2 worth the upgrade over the hugo tt? Does it do or have any must have massive upgrades over the tt that makes it a must have upgrade in anyway?

I’m considering picking up the tt instead of the tt2 purely based on price points as I can pick up a used tt for pretty cheap, any unbiased opinions out there? Or it’s worth the jump.

I also note they still choose for some reason to run this thing with batteries, why? What’s the point? It’s a table top device your not carrying it around in your backpack using it with iems, they could have reduced costs by not having batteries. And my biggest issue and the reason I sold my hugo2 and mojo was not only the noise issues when coupled with usb or optical to my pc but the heat output could of fried and egg, I went through 2 hugo 2’s and two mojos and both did the same thing and just wrecked my listening experience.

I’m heavily leaning towards schiit now if i’m being honest as I’ve not had these issues with them before but now seen this tt2 and is up for some consideration along with the tt standard. But the more I read about these things having batteries etc the worse the flavour tatses for me because of the noise issue I’ve had in the past.
My TT is kept on permanently and runs stone cold.

OK.

When I was deciding to buy the Hugo 2, I read the entire Hugo 2 thread. I made a thread of the impressions I got. The general idea between Hugo and Hugo 2, was that it was a substantial/good upgrade.

Yes it was, I was part of the ch1 ch2 tour spent 10 days comparing, just saying I was surprised by this night and day comparisons. Now subtly I grew a preference to ch2 but sheesh, ch1 bass and vocals sounded better in some ways....

I’m hesitant to acquire tt2 because of my experience but will keep an opened mind, might have to side by side test myself with a liberal return policy, but no rush. I’m sure tt2 is awesome as tt is.

If the TT 2 turns out to not have enough bass for my liking what are some ways to increase? I am currently using Moon Audio Black Dragon cables and Mr. Speakers Ether Flow.

I wouldn't worry about something that has not been described as such just yet. But the solution is a reference server, that will give realistic authority to the bass pallet.

Sorry I keep hearing about a reference server but I am not familiar with what that is?

Aurender is a no go they don't fully support android. Conductor is only a Beta and people are complaining about it.
