@ Rob Watts,, Can you or someone from chord explain why so many people are getting Dropouts when connecting a blu mk2 or m scaler to the Dave using BNC(even with the supplied bnc cables)I'm really thinking about getting an m scaler, but all of this talk about dropouts is putting me off.

I know that the post is not directed me but Rob.

Because you mentioned HMS and for the record my HMS with stock BNC cables works pretty well without dropouts once the BNC connectors has been secured, something that you may to know.

Regards.

This is obvious but also good advice. I have come across several people who did not know that it is necessary to rotate the BNC collar to securely attach the BNC plug to the socket.

Both r different sq wise 009 does microdetail very well he1000se is an all rounder. I like both its personal preference of individual likes .

I see. Was expecting HEKSE will outperform the 009 because the output was from DAVE directly. In this case, It could be that the 009 would sound better if powered by KGBH (a wild guess).

He1000se plays well with all kinds of music .009 does very well with classical and acoustical music .WES is a neutral amp so it very transparent as the Dave. I like WES I don't know about other electrostatic amps as I have not heard them.

For 009 you should audition KG Carbon, one of if not the very best match for your Stax.

After a couple of days I'm really impressed with the TT2 HMS combo, best I've yet heard. I'm using original HD800s and previously was a Stax man. I'd be interested in recommendations of ultimate headphones to pair with TT2/HMS. Stax 009 and HD800 are highly resolving so this gives a clue where my priorities lie.

Is the KG Carbon better than the KGBHSE? I heard that there are cyclotron (or is it megatron?) also designed by KG. Anybody tried?

The general consensus among Stax men is approx as follows:
T2
Cyclotron
BHSE or Carbon depending whether you prefer valves or S/S.
But this is off topic, head over tot the Stax thread, but only if you have a very healthy bank account.

I'm on the same quest myself. My short list is currently the HiFiman HE1000se and Susvara, and the Abyss Phi CC. The trick is going to be to get them all in the same place at the same time with both a mTT2 and mDAVE. Once my buddy's TT2 arrives, it may be time for a road trip.
