Many of you may already know this, but I am posting it for your information. Soundnews, an audio equipment review site, posted a video interview on Youtube on February 5, 2023, titled "Q&A session with Rob Watts about the past, present and future of Chord Electronics " interview video on Youtube.

It covers a variety of topics, from topics familiar to this forum, to references to a product that can be designed without concern for cost or size constraints, perhaps the Ultima DAC.

The video interview is about an hour long, but if you hover over the red line, you will see chapter-by-chapter headings by Video timestamps.

Care to enlighten me on what these Laptops are, and why they are beating
50 K transport/Dac’s?
I am guessing DCS, just going by the numbers.
I tried my Laptop for a while using Jriver software>USB>Dac and a simple Ifi Zen stream kicked it to the curb sound wise.
I have since moved on to the P1, which was also a big upgrade.
Keep in mind, I only listen through speakers.
What is the P1 you are referring to? I am looking for a good streamer to use Roon, currently using an Intel NUC and i keep hearing going to a dedicated streamer will be much better.

Lumin P1 streaming dacamp. They make dedicated streamers sans DAC or headamp stages as well.

An Acer Aspire V13 (i5-5200U/8GB DDR3 RAM/1TB HD) purchased 7 years ago (?). You may use your existing laptop/PC to try out.

There are albums which I've listened to for more than two decades therefore I'll notice if there are any differences.

My previous post: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hug...nics-the-official-thread.885042/post-17245769

It's a German-made of three characters, their top of the line speaker design is very unique. I've fully explored their reference class until the pair of mid range drivers blew, and the manufacturer refused to provide free replacements because they said that it's impossible to blow the mid range.

There is another version which some claimed best ever, only take 10 minutes to install , no need any prioritisation: http://jplay.eu/forum/index.php?/topic/5608-best-ever-windows-version-for-audiophile/

Better still, iOS version: http://jplay.eu/forum/index.php?/topic/5138-jplay-ios-app-world-premiere-event/

Just try the trial versions on your available HW, cost nothing and help to slow down the global warming effects!

For those computer idiots, just buy some fast food for the teen, and they will be at your service! :)

Feedback of the ES56, it's really something: http://jplay.eu/forum/index.php?/topic/3063-pink-hq-minorityclean/page-220

Maybe when I have time (a week) I wil try to read through all that. I am not very techy, so messing with computers is not my thing, and why I went with the Lumin in the end.
Thanks anyway

no going to happen for this release. if I'm not wrong, three pieces was mentioned in the interview

I was referring to the new Ultima dac, I may be incorrect, but I thought JF was talking about the new SuperScaler when he mentioned 3 boxes.
As I understand it, the TT2, MScaler and DAVE will stay in production in their current form, the Ultima dac and SuperScaler would be an upmarket addition to the Chord product range.

That would certainly be the easier show for Chord to transport and display a pre-production prototype of any new gear
Wasn't there something called Suzi mentioned by John Franks in the recent Japanese language interview? That's probably all that we'll see.

I haven't seen that interview, were there any hints as to what Suzi is?
I can't work it out, to be frank.

The interview was posted a few pages back:

https://www.phileweb.com/interview/article/202302/10/916.html

Next, we created a product called SUZI. It is expected to be available later this year. This is easy to understand if you imagine "Lego", but it is a unit that is used in combination like Hugo2 and 2go. The SUZI Pre also has a built-in phono equalizer, which will allow you to attach a streaming unit.

In Belgium the importator and digithome help me each time I need to choose cable.
For digital 75 ohm, I use starlight 8 with BNC. 105 euro for 1 m.
Before me the importator never sale a BNC 75 ohm digital cable.
So after my test, I report him my conclusion for use at 768 khz.
My comment was send to the manager of Wireworld.
He said that I was very accurate in my description of the interaction between digital and analogic.
He try himself to put ferrites on the Wireworld digital cable for none effect.
He gives me informations about the interest to respect the arrows on the cable.

Once, I connect one cable in the wrong way between the scaler and the Dave. It was awfull.

The helix technologie is one of the best way to minimize the effect of electromagnetic field around us.
Generaly named twisted pair by the manufacture.

For RCA and XLR, I compared Eclipse, Silver Eclipse and Gold Eclipse I do not try the Platinum because to expansive for me.
I choose Gold Eclipse
For loudspeakers, I choose Gold Eclipse.
For optical, I compare audioquest and Wireworld. I choose Supernova
I can not explain why but the 200 euro Wireworld is better than the 400 euro audioquest.
For main, i compared stratus, electra and silver electra. I choose silver electra.
For mini jack, I choose nano platinum eclipse between my mojo and my BW T7.

For HDMI, I compared audioquest pearl forest and Cinnammon. I pay for Cinnamon.
but recently audioquest replace the HDMI serie. The new ones cost 50% more.
If you like beautifull image on your TV, try this cable.
In one HDMI cable, there is some twisted pair of cable.

Helas, I spend a lot of money in cable but each time my wife said : you take the best choice. s

Quoting an old post, but just thought I'd chime in, I recently got the Wireworld Gold Startlight 8 BNC cables (pure silver conductors) in a trade with someone and I can't really tell a difference between them and the heavy Wave cables I had. There may be a slight difference of course, but I wanted to get away from the heavy ferrites in my setup, so I'm happy.

That makes me think of multiple modules that can be plugged together (like lego bricks).
The 'all-in-one' fans would not be amused.

It would be nice if the Super Scaler is an add-on box that actually uses the M Scaler so that M Scaler owners can just add it to the stack to upgrade if they want to.

I wonder if that is what the "‘DX’ controls for a future product design" might be for.
