there is little to no different in SQ between the black dragon and stock BNC
No wonder. What would you expect from black dragon? It doesn't have ferrite cores it's a standard BNC cable so I cannot see how it can suppress noise.
Choose Wave Storm and I promise you will hear the difference immediately.

Is there a way to buy Wave Storm cables online that are returnable if you don't like them after trying them?

Yes I believe that Nick (owner of Wave) offers 30 days return period.
Ask him directly in PM, he is here known as @Triode User

Didn't know Wave has DBNC cable for Hugo2. Anyway, I did tried putting tons of ferrites on Black Dragon but no effect. Rob is right. With battery, there is no need for better BNC cables.
Yes the battery eliminated the need for better BNC cables - but that listening test was done with the PowerAdd Pilot Pro.

It's the same cable, you just use adapters to make it work with hugo2 3,5mm coax socket.

And I have to strongly disagree (as other people here on forum) with Rob and you in that battery eliminates need for ferrited cables.
Tried it, cable still made a big change to the sound.

I have a problem with my mscaler optical input, was using USB all this while and wanted to try optical.

Connected Optical cable to Optical Input 1 and set input button to green, I did confirm that Hugo 2 works when connected to same wire and input. But mscaler does not play anything.

Mscaler and Dave is connected with dual BNC.

Please suggest any troubleshooting steps.

That's a bit odd. You could try Optical Input 2 with the input button selected to Blue.
Sometimes, what happens is that the Toslink cable with thicker jacks don't fit perfectly into Chord products but you can always use the stock Toslink cable that comes with the M-Scaler or DAVE.
Another you can verify is that if M-Scaler is receiving the signal, the 3rd light from the right should light up and show the sample rate in the correct color, e.g. red for 44.1kHz.
Another thing to make sure of course is that your DAVE is set to the correct dual BNC setting, e.g. BNC1 or BNC3.
Another way to trouble shoot this is to simply take a photo with your phone of your system playing with the optical input as most of us can see your M-Scaler lights and Dave settings to tell you what's going on.

Should be problem with thicker jack, let me try with thicker jack. Chord products has this problem, most of their inputs are recessed.

Planning to get KabelDirekt Toslink cable, will it fit M-Scaler?

Get the Lifatec Glass Fiber Toslink. It's really the best you can buy. The plug is physically slim, well machined and fits the recessed M Scaler optical port for nicely. I've tried all levels from the stock Chord Optical to the Supra and all at the way up to the Wireworld Supernova. The Wireworld's free rotating toslink plug design is good in theory but the execution is lackluster and and the plug design is way bigger than it needs to be.

In comparison to those, I felt the Lifatec had the best material feel, build quality and sound reproduction.

I have good experience with Audioquest forest
I use one with my AK DAP as player and another with my server.

It fits Dave as a glove and is good priced at €35. Also 192k never failed even while trying to wobble the plugs.

why 6m that is very lengthy, I read somewhere on head fi that more then 2m TOSlink must be made out of glass, otherwise loss in SQ.
