Very nice, did you try other streamers Vs the RS130, if so, how is the RS130 better. Thanks. For your time.

In the same stack as I have now, I only had my Oppo205. I changed that for the HIFI rose 250B. Sound quality was the same but in a nicer form factor but curiosity (and reviews) did lead me to try out the 130RS and its fiber connection. It was an instant uplift to my ears so a keeper ever since.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing.

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to replace the stock BNC cables with shorter ones since my TT2 and HMS are placed close to each other.
Two questions:
- What is the characteristic impedance of the stock BNC cables that come with HMS? (I want to buy matching ones.)
- Is it worth the effort? Could there be any downsides to using shorter cables in this setup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Rob Watts says here that 2 metres is a big upgrade from 1 metre, so it might not be smart to go short. Also it might be the case that fancy cables with low inductance aren’t as appropriate as the relatively cheap higher inductance cables supplied with the M Scaler, as the inductance is useful in reducing the RF that reaches the DAC.

Belden 1694A - Blue Jeans Cable

Wont break the bank , Was recommended this cable as a good upgrade on supplied BNC by a very well informed member of this thread. This was a good while ago though
(pre covid) when I had the funds and was seriously considering buying the Mscaler.

Others have guided you to 75 ohm cables and I agree. Also I also did the length comparison at about the same time as Rob Watts (in fact we used identical make of cable as well) and I agree that 1m sounded better than 0.5m and 2m sounded better that 1m length. I wouldn’t say it was a big difference in sound but it was audible. So yes, there will probably be a poorer sound quality by using shorter cables.
