You only need more current if you see distortion and lack of volume. .

What you don't understand is that It is more about bass or volume. It needs authority. Having a better amp is to have better authority, not to have a higher volume. My IPhone already gives it enough volume. It also improve clarity, soundstage, linearity.
But it's your free will to give it a try or not. So I will stop here. All I can say honestly from my experience is that Hugo 1 directly to Ether C was a bad paring.
