Yes I do, thanks! Well that was far easier than I thought it would be. I've removed the preamp entry and using the volume knob on HQPlayer itself to reduce the gain, I trust that would be fine and prevent clipping.
the preamp entry offsets the EQ curve, so I would keep it and set HQPlayer max to -3 to prevent oversample clipping. Plus when you're not using the EQ curve, you can increase volume to -3.
Or continue as you're using and set the limit to -8. Problem with that option is when you're not using the EQ curve, you're limiting to -8.

Was there a typo there? you mentioned -3 in both cases? I can't think of a reason why I would not want the EQ curve active at all times to be honest.
I am currently using the evaluation version of HQPlayer Desktop. While I have your attention for a moment, is it possible to assign different filters per track or must I have to go to settings and change the filter everytime I change a track that requires a different filter? I currently creating a notepad file with the track names and the filters/noise shaper I like and I am referring to that and manually changing each time I change track.
If you have other headphones with different EQ curves, you likely would have a different preamp offset value that would be relevant for that particular pair.

you can save profiles and use the client to move between different profiles.
Oh, I only have the ADX3000 headphones, I don't plan to get any others for the foreseeable future. The client? is that part of HQplayer desktop? not familar with that, I will have to look into that if I decide to purchase this software but it is a lot of money!

client is part of the install. Desktop, client, manual are the three selectable parts of a Windows or OSX install. Not sure what O/S you're using. Looks like this.
I'm in Windows 11. oh!! I had no idea there was this "HQPlayer5Client.exe" in my installation folder. I can change filter and shaper on the fly without the audio stopping! amazing. Thanks very much! I haven't figured out how to make profiles yet but I shall have a play around.
Quick question: In the client, my EQ is not loaded by default for some reason. When I select it from the drop-down box, I can hear the difference but it's louder in volume. Why is it louder? the text file has "Preamp: -5.0 dB" at the top. I would expect it to be quieter.

Another approach would be to get rid of the preamp line and set channels 1 & 2 at -5 for the same effect. Too much going on without pictures to be much help at this point.

Yes, I like that idea better. Thank you. The client app though loads up with the EQ off. I have to go into the settings everytime and select it from the drop-down. Kind of annoying.

When I go to Matrix Pipeline in HQPlayer Desktop, I see my txt files listed for the EQ. I called this "ADX3000". When I go to the HQPlayer Client, and I go to settings, the Matrix Profile shows "Default". When I click that dropdown box, I see "ADX3000" listed. When I select this, I hear an audible change in volume (volume increases). When I close HQPlayer Client and reopen it, the Matrix Profile returns to "Default". It looks like my profile is not being applied when I use the client. What do you think is happening here?

Sorry, I am not following you. What is that meant to do? It saves an xml file... Ok great, but I am still in the same position I was. HQPlayer Client has the profile set as "Default" and I have to manually select "ADX3000" everytime I load the Client.

load the xml file, close the application. that should now load as the default. Otherwise you're not setting something correct. Possibly you're loading the txt file but not hitting save? Then saving the XML file?

I have the txt files enabled and of course I clicked save Everytime I open HQPlayer Desktop, the text files appear automatically in the Matrix menu and the enabled is always ticked. The issue is with the Client.exe. The XML file is for the HQPlayer Desktop not the client application. There is no save option for the menu in the client application. If I select ADX3000 from the client menu, the setting will stick until I close the application. When I re-open it, it goes back to [Default]. I can record a video if that helps?

Okay - I think the issue is what you're expecting to see is slightly different than how the application presents and with good reason. It's logical that you'd expect the Matrix profile to display ADX3000 but if it's the default behavior for it to be loaded in the default XML file, the Matrix profile in the client will simply display [default].
