Born in Paterson, grew up in Clifton and Wayne for the most part. I recall some Giants and Devils players living in a condo area near me in Wayne awhile back.

They need to bring real NY Taxi drivers with them so this crap doesn't happen.

Don't laugh. My team is the Phillies. We just gutted our team. Sucks to be us.

I live in MI so my team should be the Tigers (but I don't really like baseball). They are doing most excellent this year which is a pleasant suprise.

Dodgers just won their 6th in a row. Maddux had a no-hitter through 6 innings. Things are looking all right. 3 back in the nl west, 2 back in the wild card.

Wow, yesterday Abreau went 3 for 5, Lidle went 6 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 run. The new kid on first ( it's late, I'm tired) had a 2 run single. Hey, I know it's only three games but yesterday at the stadium was pure Yankee poetry.

Yeah the team is coming together nicely right now. A perfect time too.

and the Yankee's win again with the Kid (Craig Wilson?) contributing two doubles. Gotta hand it to the Boston Papi's, they're keeping pace in a rather dramatic fashion although, more bad luck, back up catcher Doug Mirabelli left in the 2nd inning with an injured knee. Luckily they picked up Javy Lopez from Baltimore though he's not much of a catcher these days. Better than nothing I guess and maybe his longterm experience will help the Sox's rookie pitchers ooorrrr maybe he has Ebola and will infect the entire team. Wow, that was sooo unbalanced of me, is there a full moon tonight? Ahh, I know, it's from getting my brains par-boiled this week during the heat wave.

Well, after a bit of a rough patch, the Tigers seem to be back on the right path.

On Friday night, I attended the first game of the season with my family. The company I work for does a Tiger game as an outing once a year, and in years past it's been very easy to get extra tickets. Well, this year is another story...the stadium was packed. I haven't seen a buzz around a Tiger home game like this since 1984.

So what do they do? Win the game in the bottom of the 8th after being down 6-1 as late as the 7th inning. Craig Monroe hits a 2-run homer to put them up to stay...what a game!!

On Saturday, they did one better and won it in walk-off style on a homer by Pudge Rodriguez. On Sunday, Will Ledezma comes out of the bull-pen to team with 4 other pitchers and post a shut-out.

They have some more big games coming up soon, and there's always the playoffs to contend with after all that. They are, however, on pace to win more games and finish with a better record than any other Tiger team ever. Great time to rediscover a sport that I'd forgotten about after the cancellation of the World Series.
