We bought a new Jeep Liberty. It has a sliding canvas roof like the VW bus did in the 60's, except it is push-button, it has an AC outlet, NAV, Voice Command, 30 gig harddrive to store music, Ipod jack on the head unit, bluetooth, Satilite Radio, Satilite traffic updates for the NAV, You can watch DVD movies on the NAV screen when the vehicle is in park, Heated seats, 12 Volt power on the dash, Passanger front seat folds flat and has a tray for a laptop, Parking sensors, Remote Start (Works from 600 feet away), when you start it by remote it will use the air and heat to get the truck to 72 degrees reguardless of the manual settings, auto temp and vent control, reversible mud tray in the cargo area, the sliding roof will open both foreward and reverse so people in the back can use the roof while shading the people up front if that is what you want, the rear seats recline, rides like a dream, great steering, very smooth, quiet, and you can even buy a tent attachment that turns it into a camper.

Ours has all the options accept for the tow package and it was 29+ out the door.

That VW Bus is sweet! My parents used to have a VW Vanagon L... it had a pop-up tent on top, a refrigerator, pull out beds, etc., etc.. I drove it to Chicago to go to a party; one of my aquaintances (I wouldn't really call him a friend) got kicked out of the party for being too messed up, so I gave him the keys and told him he could sleep in it. At this point one of two things happened: (he claimed) someone held him up at gunpoint and stole it, or (what everyone else thinks but can't prove) he sold it for drug money. Either way, it was found a week later in an abandoned parking lot; it had been completely stripped. Surprisingly, my parents didn't kill me.

I'm a little biased since I own the coupe, but you should check out the new 370Z convertible (it's coming out any day now). I'm 6'3" and my coupe has plenty of room for me; despite being much smaller than the old Ford Focus, it is far less cramped. And it's the most fun I've ever had driving... it's an awesome car, and you can get it fully loaded in the mid 40s, which is an absolute steal.

See if you can find someone from Team Legal to go with you. Dealers love it when you bring a lawyer.

You can also really annoy them by bringing a yellow legal pad and writing down everything they promise. Keep asking them to initial next to their promises. It depends on your state's laws, but it is possible for these promises to become part of the contract. Even if not, they are not used to customers putting everything in writing. They won't be happy but they won't kick you out.

If they refuse to initial a promise, ask them if you wrote it down incorrectly or if that isn't what they said. This drives them absolutely crazy. It'll cut out 99% of the BS. They'll still want to make the sale, but will knock off the lies and cut a fair deal early just to get you out of there.
