It is like any hobby, it consumes much more than you would ever think when you get involved with it. The key is to have fun and enjoy. With all the meets going on and forums like Head-Fi, this hobby has really taken a big step forward and made the hobby, almost a community.

I know you're joking (right?), but here's what I'm saving up for:

EMU 0404
HD600
FC7
Some sort of amp like one of the MOY's...

Those are stuff for the next 6 mo. or so.

I've spent a lot on DAPs, a 2G 10 GB iPod, a used NJB3, and a Carbon...but those don't count. I use them as high school stress relievers.

On my current headphone rig, probably a bit less than $400, but it's soon to double as I add my very first headphone amp soon. Sometime in the near future. Maybe. Possibly.

What's depressing isn't the amount spent. It's all the gear stored because it didn't work in my application, and I don't sell stuff.

Wow there's quite a few headfiers who have spent a lot of money on their systems. Did you realise this when you bought the items or when you just added it up?????????

Seriously, Are there any headfiers who spent a few thousand $ who regret the decision???? It be interesting to find out on headfiers various opinions.
